Great interview and information, I always thought the Puritans and the Pilgrim's were the same ! We should not forget our history nor be afraid to hand it down!

I tell you, I sweep leaves from the church where four pilgrims went to church, got married baptised and followed a martyr funeral, I pass a Mill that would have supplied the Mayflower, eat food in the home of 4 of the pilgrims and drink in the pub (Inn) where they may have passed or popped in, fascinating,,if you would like to know more I could write an article for you from here in Essex England.

Thonas Rogers family ancestry for me. And Fuller and one I'll need to check my pedigree for. All men. Wives were left behind. Thus I suspect I've ponchtonee ancestry too - but I'm not selling nor otherwise databasing MY DNA

Nathaniel Philbrick has done a superb job of telling the story of the Pilgrims establishing the first colonies of Plymouth and all the challenges they face while living in Indian lands. The story of King Philips war was very well described and not just factually but analysing the reasons and consequences of various events and characters that made the book very gripping ! The language is so easy to read that I’d very much recommend the book to anyone who is even slightly interested in American history

It was 103 people who got on board the mayflower (if you count peregrine white) and yes, I'm from Elmwood East Bridgewater.

Love that the Mayflower was built near Harwich UK and set sail from the same area.

I loved "Mayflower" and also recommend "Astoria" by Peter Stark.

Slavery was not the issue. His attempt to be politically correct has poisoned his book.

@@sinatra222 white guy? My family is Native American and European mixed. My family is descended from five families of the Mayflower, This book and video is misleading. It was natives who practiced slavery. None of the Mayflower's passengers practiced slavery. No one knows why the war started or details. One of my ancestors was killed in that war. The Mayflower folks lived in peace with the natives. This is bogus.
