@@NathanielBandy A part of me is not okay when I remember the Reddit mob constantly being negative towards Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) by making them sound like (literal) poor men's versions of the original trilogy (or quadrilogy if you count both versions of Super Mario Bros. 2) instead of improvements (save for Super Mario Bros. 3 even though I like its otherwise flawed predecessors save for The Lost Levels, but then again, we all love every version of SMB3 with a burning passion except for maybe the bootleg on the Game Boy Colour).

There’s a mathematically optimal way to get all the Standees. Buy the random Standee until you get 96 Standees total. Then buy the rest of the standees in the special world. This works because 96 is 2/3 of 144. Which means at 97, it’ll take about three attempts to get a new Standee if you get a random Standee. That means you’ll, on average, require about 30 coins to get a new Standee when you have 96 Standees. And you’ll require even more coins for anything above 97.

The thing that gets me is just how pretty Super Mario All Stars is. Those backdrops for SMB1/Lost Levels are absolutely top notch, the night-time backdrops in particular have always been some of my favorites and it's a shame that no games have ever really borrowed from SMAS' overall aesthetic choices.

I've been watching all your videos and man just dedicating +10 hours a day to very similar games would drain me out, kudos to you, btw its late now since you have already done this but I find that the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro is fantastic for this kind of games, since it mantains the original shape and feeling, but also gives you a stick so you can "rest" when necessary, would have helped for the first couple Super Mario games

So I did the math. I combined the current 100% world records for every 2D and 3D Mario game (except SMB Deluxe cuz I couldn't find it) into a playlist. Then I added up each of the WR times from each video into a calculator (I added them by minutes, so the times that were over an hour I just added 60 or 120 or whatever to the calculation) I can't remember the exact number of the calculation, but when I converted the minutes to days, it said it was 2.898997998989897979 (I can't remember the number but it was just a bunch of random decimals). So basically, if you're as skilled as all the 100% WR speedrunners out there, it'll probably take you around *just under 3 days* to 100% every 2D and 3D Mario game. Also if you're wondering: the shortest game is Super Mario Land (12 mins) and the longest is Super Mario Galaxy (11 hours)

Super Mario Bros 2 Japan is actually one of my favorite 2d marios. 😂😂 I grew up with the original smb 1 and played it to the point it was too easy, so when I found out about Super Mario Bros 2 Japan on the virtual console it was an amazing gift and like a more challenging Super Mario Bros 1 but with a greater and more fun difficulty.

I never knew that you had to beat all of the bosses again if you got a game over in the final level in Super Mario Land 2. That's one of my favorite 2D Mario games, so that's crazy. The reason I think this is the case is so that once you have a game over you have an opportunity to gain some skill before fighting the boss in the final level, so you can get coins and 1-ups in these levels... and to pad out the game...

The only 2D Mario game I can always replay over and over is Super Mario World on the SNES. The rest however not so much.

I loved lost levels. It was like if they carried on the difficulty at the end of the first one right at the beginning of the second one. And finding it was such a cool moment. It was like finding an alternate dimension where they made a sequel to one of my all time favorite games. I thoroughly enjoyed it and its challenge.
