Why would they speak Arabic? Don't you know they have their own language? They are island nations in the Indian Ocean east of Africa just like Seychelles, Mauritius and Madagascar. They have developed their own Creole.

They were a French colony and the locals have developed a fusion language that is the lingua franca of the islands. The Comoros is not an Arab nation just like Malta is not. Their language may be derived from Arabic but the people are not Arabs. It's any wonder why they joined the Arab league. What political, historical and cultural basis do they have for that?

Maybe a little passionate, firm and assertive but I'm not mad or upset. I just see the same pattern of somewhat subtle Arab or Malay nationalism or cultural supremacy commented on countries such as West Papua(Malay) Guam(Malay), Madagascar(Malay), Malta(Arab) Comoros(Arab). Does Malta have Arab people? Does Comoros have Arab people? The Comoros is not in the MENA region. It's people are not of the Arab or Middle Eastern ethnicity. If they don't really speak French neither do they really want to speak Arabic either.
