​@@youruncle3611 Aussies are an American breed anyways. Almost everything they're looking for in the mini "American" Shepherd are breed-standard traits for Aussies. I'm really glad Jimmy won the herding class (and that AKC added them a while back) because SO MANY breeders are going for size ASAP above all else, and minis are starting to look more and more like colorful Chihuahuas which I'm NOT okay with. This was a reminder to mini breeders of what they SHOULD be aspiring to.

I am with you, Oriana. Spectacular dog. Of course, they all are, but I want that dog. I love most terriers; we used to have an incredible show quality Airedale who never did one annoying thing. (Now we have a rescue cockapoo who is quite terrible. :))

The deerhound!!! He seemed so calm. I knew a breeder of deerhound in PA and they are very affectionate and protective of the family. Good choice. 🥰🐶

I understand what you are requesting, though there is a regular dog portion of the dog show. And it is often funny when the dog is too excited and runs the wrong way or sometimes does a "nope"

My sister and I absolutely love this event. We watch faithfully. The first dog was a definite 10! Perfect in every way. Beautiful. So when the time came for the english cocker spaniel, The man handling him was completely abusive. He did not have 2 fingers in between the collar and neck, and when running him held the leash so tight that he dog was unable to open his mouth. Looked choked. Made us sad.

I can't believe that the dog I picked to win is the one that the Judge also picked!!!! The Scottish Deerhound! I would have put the Miniature American Shepherd 2nd. Also, I think that the show chairman did a fantastic job in very uncertain times. The audience was a great idea. Hats off.... 👏

I remember the first time I met a Scottish Deer Hound in person, it was actually a pair of them came into my hotel w/ their owners. I was just blown away by their wooly coats, their handsome shape and of course their tremendous size! They were also extremely laid back like Claire here. Sort of reminded me of Chinese dragons.

The German shepherd has only one one best in show that I can find in the history of this show, and has only one twice for BIS at Westminister. I think that GSDS should be put back in the working group, instead of where they are now, in the herding group.

I assume they have recorded applause because maybe the dogs are used to it? These must be trained for certain cues, and maybe they assume the sound of applause is good. As long as it is for the dogs to be comfortable and happy, I don't care how silly this is >.

The issue that exists with this show is that there were less than 500 dogs there. A typical dog show usually has an entry close to 2,000. The size of this show was a direct result of Covid restrictions. Typically, there are dog shows every weekend. There are no spectators allowed at most. If this show was interesting to you.. make an effort to find out where the shows are and get involved. The dog show community is a welcoming inclusive community. Showing dogs becomes a huge part of life for many.
