So, it was fun learning about food from other countries!! Now I wanna tell you a bit more about ours, Ukrainian cuisine. Ever heard of kulish? It’s this thick soup with millet, meat, onions, and veggies. Or kapusnyak, which is made with sauerkraut and usually pork. Then there’s the main stuff: varenyky (basically dumplings) with all kinds of fillings-potatoes, cheese, cabbage, mushrooms, or even berries. Holubtsi? That’s rice and meat wrapped in cabbage leaves, cooked in tomato sauce. Kruchenyky!! Little meat rolls. Oh, and kartoplianyky-like potato pancakes with onions, served with sour cream (SO good, btw :3). And obviously, our iconic palyanytsia-just some ridiculously tasty bread. We’ve also got korzhi, pies, and yeah, can’t skip desserts: syrnyky, kutia (a Christmas classic), and verhuny. As for drinks, there’s kvass (made from bread), uzvar (a dried fruit compote), and medovukha (honey mead). Anyways, all countries have such cool and interesting national cuisines!! 🫶🏻💝💞

I think Tikka Masala is a British dish, a UK curry based on Indian spices etc but I would agree that Fish and Chips or maybe a Sunday Roast are the national dishes of the UK. I don't think Tikka Masala is even the most popular curry in the UK either and popularity must be important for a national dish surely. I have a Sunday roast every sunday pretty much but the UK is very multi-cultural nowadays so I'm sure a large percentage of the population don't have a sunday roast.

@@vozdogibi There is no such dish in India as Tikka Masala, it was invented by a chef in Glasgow when a diner complained that his chicken curry was too dry. It was returned to the chef, he looked around his kitchen for something to make the curry less dry, he spotted a can of Campbell's condensed cream of tomato soup and added it to the curry with more spices. The diner loved the dish, he asked what the dish was called and the Chef said it is Chicken Tikka Masala.
