Second this. Great start (?) to the series. Matt, I'd enjoy seeing you interact with the other photographers as well, though that may not be your purpose here. If anyone finds where to buy another one of those lamps - post it here. I've got one, and we wanted another, they seem to have stopped making them. Cheers

Love the Rolleiflex. My travel kit is similar to Ira's. My travel kit consists of 2 A7CR bodies, a 16-35 GM II, a 50mm 1.4 GM, and a 70-200 G II. I'll take the 1.4x if needed. It all fits in a Tenba shoulder bag. Love Ira's B&H series.

Great video to show some of the masters of older times and today. He is truly monitor agnostic, he has an old, beautiful cinema display from Apple, and Eizo (that needs no introduction for photo enthusiasts), and a BenQ. His body of work is fantastic, he got an Instagram follower.

We need more Lenses like the SONY ZEISS Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA and SONY ZEISS Sonnar 55mm 1.8 T* ZA ! I was very close to buying the SONY 300mm 2.8 GM Lens with teleconverters, but when I saw the announcement of the Sigma 500mm 5.6 G DN OS Sports Lens, then I got the Sigma 500mm ! I love compact and light weight Lenses that handles very well.

This is the third or fourth time where Ira shows his Sony gears. Certainly, he doesn't carry them, he has guys to carry his staff and just ask what he wants to use. (Cuba video). Anyway, his images are really good, looks like N G doesn't pay him enough to do these Sony commercials.

We all change systems eventually, and Ira is a great photographer, amazing work he does for Nat Geo, although after watching this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/npbLfX5tg52kbqc) 11 years ago, and the way he compared and made fun of big FF lenses' size and weight 1 minute into the video, seeing him now, 11 year older, carrying even larger and heavier lenses, and a whole briefcase full of gear? I wonder what his thought process might be nowadays and if he misses the small and light gear he used back then.
@PillsGrabber5 ай бұрын
Nice discussion point, he can very well get a lighter/smaller kit from Sony, curious that he stuck to larger lenses!

Interesting find! That a7C is supposed to be "small"? I carry a Panasonic GX8 for the same offset viewfinder - and they called that "big" when it was new (for an MFT that is).
@1iblock5 ай бұрын
Wow, that is an oldie but goodie video, and I was younger back than. I was trying the lighter smaller cameras as I was doing a lot of hiking at that time, and i wanted to see how well they worked. I was having in issue with the MFT sensors at high ISO, not looking the way i liked, of course that may have changed now. Sony just jumped ahead of everyone back then with their mirrorless system and super autofocus. At the start I was using the Sony f/4 lenses which were pretty small, but as always, I switched to the larger faster lenses, as I like the bokeh wide open and the low light ability. I really like the intimacy and drama of low light, and the Sony sensors are really good at high ISO. I'm showing a lot of equipment, but I don't carry it all - that is more for a 20 year old photographer. As I mention, i do 90-95 per cent of my photos with a zoom lens in the 24-70mm range., especially for the intimate people shots I so love. I have some of the other lenses along for special images.

The SONY A7CII are not small , neither light weight when you add that grip ! Stupid. It is too expensive for what it not have ! I do agree that the design with the viewfinder in the corner are the best possible design ! ALL SONY Cameras should have that design, but with larger EVF and higher resolution.

Yes, Bresson used the most cutting edge gear available to him, that was way to expensive for most people at the time... but no one seems as focused on the gear as the commenters...

Ugly colors... your photos are good but the colors sucks.... Sony colors are so bland, I can immediately tell... Get a Nikon, Canon or Fuji. For years, working with many camera system the Sony is the best autofocusing camera system, but the color doesn't have soul and character in it.
