I'm getting more familiar with the radio and I try some signal tracing to see what is working and what is not.

The socket in the back of the radio may be an accessory jack when used with a transmitter. When not used with a transmitter you may need a shorting plug to pass power supply voltages back into the radio. If you have an owners manual it may show a shorting plug inserted in the back when using as just a receiver.

Assume a 22 tube radio. 2 tubes using a Push-Pull configuration to get 100W. The remainder being dual triode *sk7, *au7, ax7, sn7, that would be 40 amplifiers or 40 transistors.

A good approach on this complicated radio would be to get a manual . I have owned several of these radios and trying to trouble shoot without a manual is very difficuly

I like your approach to troubleshooting. Good man and good luck. All things can be fixed...with enough time and pressure! :)
