"Why is the floor wet, Todd?!" "I don't KNOW, Margo!" Family tradition to watch this at my parents. My Mom ALWAYS forgets about the squirrel, and ALWAYS loses her shit when it happens. She usually has a pretty rough year, so it's always great seeing her crying from laughing so hard.

Aunt Bethany here was none other than veteran character actress and voice impersonator Mae Questel, who among others, was the voice of the black-and-white cartoon character Betty Boop in the 1930s, and in _Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988),_ which you reacted to on this channel earlier this year!

I’m so happy that this is being inflicted on you. In some ways it’s a really dumb movie, but it manages to capture a lot of the wildest excesses and weirdnesses of American holiday culture. Like, almost everything in this movie is an exaggeration of something I experienced with my own family or witnessed with someone else’s family. Some career-best performances from a few of these actors, too.

definitely a Christmas tradition watching this and laughing along. Recently heard of a scene that didn't make the cut I would have liked to see. At the end with the flaming Santa and sleigh shooting thru the sky they cut to Todd and Margo, the neighbors, toasting the holiday having made up again. They say something about Santa and the flaming one from Clarks' yard crashes into their living room.

I’ve loved this film ever since I first saw it…..& yes, I actually own one of the Wally World moose mugs….still in the process of finding the rest of the mugs & eggnog bowl. Fun Fact: Mae Questel, who played Aunt Bethany was also known for providing the voices for the animated characters Betty Boop (from 1931) and Olive Oyl (from 1933). Mae went on to reprise her role as Betty Boop one last time in 1988s Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Her final film appearance was National Lampoons Christmas Vacation……& what away to go out!!! Also, Clark’s boss is played by Bill Murray’s brother; Brian Doyle Murray…..who also appears in the excellent Wayne’s World, as Noah Vanderhoff.

It looks like you weren't aware there's actually a whole series of Vacation movies, which isn't quite as surprising as some other movie watching gaps have been since only two of them (the original and this) are any good. Luckily, they're also all designed to pretty much stand on their own, and can even drive you nuts if you try to fit them all into a single continuity since Russ and Audrey change not only actors but personalities every single time. About the only thing you're missing by watching only this one is that Eddie's appearance wouldn't be quite so completely out of nowhere, since you'd know him from the first film.

slight correction, you mean "The Grinch" if you're speaking of the live action version with Jim Carrey.

@@CrowTRobot down with The Santa Clause, but just like with A Christmas Story, It's A Wonderful Life is so overplayed i cannot stand it, i've watched it through twice and Cable TV turned me off of it.

My mom and I's favorite part of the movie is when the cops come in and the mom cups the dad's balls - protecting the goods 🤣🤣

Fletch, Funny Farm and Spies Like Us are three great Chevy Chase movies plus the original Vacation.

Now that you've seen this film, please watch the first two. A deleted scene showed them first go to the tree lot with the sign, where all the trees looked like crap--or at least didn't satisfy Clark--and then go into the woods, where, naturally, he had no axe since they weren't planning on chopping down a tree in the first place. Sometimes a deleted scene shouldn't be.
