National Museum of China Remastered

A National Museum in the capital city of a nation as old and as big as China is going to have layers of treasures for those who appreciate the wonders of the ancient world - like doorways to ancient worlds movies can only approximate. I first made this video many months ago using some older video production software and a very limited selection of music. After learning some new software, having a few creative ideas and finding some better music I "remastered" this version which is a great improvement over my first attempt.
There were several very surprising "finds" in this museum for me, with one being a warrior queen from three thousand years ago in the Shang Dynasty, before there was a China, in what is now, China. There are still some mysteries associated with that lady, usually called Lady Fu Hao, but might, just might be more appropriately called "Fu Zi," for slightly complicated reasons and based on inscriptions found in her tomb - the only intact tomb found from the very ancient Shang Dynasty. A small part of her story is told in this video, as well as some clues regarding the possible age of the Silk Roads based on the ages of the domestication of the horse and camel. It certainly appears, based on artifacts found around China, there was a healthy number of foreign traders in China very early on in history. Though some histories report Sogdian traders did not venture as far east as China, a large number of artifacts suggests they traded widely here. So, though short, and only covering a tiny part of the total collection in the National Museum of China, I think this video is a colorful, interesting and useful introduction to begin to appreciate the age and multicultural history of this fascinating land.
