I think he's being careful, because his truth may not align with someone else's, so he just makes us fill in what we think is the truth for ourselves. Maybe haha, because other people's convictions have a way with clashing with ours.

Pretty trippy poem but yeah. Basically what he means is that there are too many options, too many truths that can fill in the silence for him to say one and be completely honest.

I’ve watched this poem a plethora of times and have decided this is hands down in my “Top 3” favorite poems of all time. I'm amazed that he and all these poets know all this stuff from memory! I am NOT a poet! I think my favorite poet is William McGonagall as I understand his poetry! I'm sure this is good stuff though, it is just that I find it difficult to understand such things! I have a useless memory, it is like a sieve!
