So I have this one family friend who is a RN (registered nurse) and occasionally works on movie and tv shows as a med aid. She was a med aid on both National Treasure movies lmao. So what allegedly happened was that the actress who plays Abigail Chase (her name escapes me) had this really nice white Columbia jacket, it didn’t fit her or she didn’t want it or something, and she gave it to my family friend, then to me (I was like, 9). I still have it to this day. It was really special since I was going through a HUGE colonial history buff phase (blame Hamilton), and I still treasure both the jacket and this movie

There is no one else who could have made this movie except Nicholas Cage. Any other actor, and this is a forgettable, goofy, over the top movie but because of his unique cage-iness, he makes it into an actually dramatic and compelling story as no other actor could pull off “I’m gonna steal the Declaration of Independence” quite like him.
