All tournaments should be catch, record, immediately release.
@JimBowSliceАй бұрын
Most states law prohibits that from being a possibility
@NytronXАй бұрын
@@JimBowSlice What? Which states make it legal to catch a fish but make it illegal to release it immediately? (Versus keeping them bobbing around in a 90° livewell for 8hrs to impress a small gathering of people in a parking lot)

Champions bass tour is having a lot of success using this method

@@NytronX I know ohio you cant do a catch and release walleye tournament. But I only meant by bring a 5 fish limit yo the scales not the immediate release.

Attention Wisconsin D.N.R. All tournaments need to be Catch Photo Release. The fish are a vital resource for tourism and their dollars. Also recreation importance for Wisconsinites .

Was there a high mortality rate at this tournament? People kill and eat fish out of there every day, I doubt that a tournament would play much of a role in depleting stocks. I’m all for the fish but I enjoy a weigh in for a tournament 👍🏻

117 boats is a slow day on pool 4. It'll be fine.

@@thewyler1 haha yeah, all winter long into spawn time there are hundreds of boats hitting the dam. This tourney wont have much impact.

@@jaegek haha yeah, at least those boats are catching and releasing 24” plus fish . 🤦

All these dudes do is just stare at their screens, no skill. Lame

Do you care to explain your "no skill" comment? The dictionary defines unskilled as not having or showing or requiring special skill or proficiency. Seems to me accurately casting a small jig and crawler to targets while facing into a 15-20 mph wind as Hunter Nitti was doing AND casting willow cats and cranks to precise wing dam locations like Allen Lydic's program both require an uncommon level of skill and proficiency. Your comment seems to imply you believe most anyone could do it. No? Help me understand why you believe one approach is more/less skilled than the other.

@@tomkolb7229 stop trying to cope with the fact you only catch fish because you have electronics. The hardest part of fishing is locating the fish, this eliminates that. There’s a reason drones are banned in hunting

@@py2561 Okay, I certainly agree that electronics (of all kinds) make finding fish easier. But your original post seemed to imply the latest advancements in sonar (FFS) make it so easy that "no skill" is required. That has not been my experience or observation. FFS gives the angler a lot of information they didn't have in the past, for sure. But it doesn't make the fish bite. You still need to be good at a) interpreting what you see on the screen b) boat control and positioning c) quick and accurate casting d) right bait presented in a way that triggers bites. I think some guys consistently rise to the top in these derbies because they are more skilled at doing these things. Not trying to pick a fight. Was just wondering if your experiences with FFS were different...that's all. Moving on. Tight lines!
