@JonDoe-mz4dx there are legitimate living tribes in Mexico. You don't need to acknowledge us in the way you wish. If they belong to what we call a Pueblo originio and the Indigenous community of said Village considers it so that's an Indigenous community.

I want to document the Native American Indian pass down through my mom's side. I know that I have to start with myself. I did have a DNA test done years ago for Native American Indian on the female lineage and I came back as Haplogroup X which is rare. Very interesting.😁

Black is not a race, and there are records of dark skin Indians or so called black. Matter of fact most if not all indigenous people of any land are and was what is now called black. Just stating facts.

What about the year that the census takers were told to only mark those native Americans who were living amoug the freedmen paying taxes? My g.g. grandfather's family and g.g.uncles families were the only families have the line in the race column. Everyone else was left blank.

I live in Indiana, and I will never forget my young son comment. "Mom, these people are acting like Indian," the native here has blue eyes and very light skin. Yes, we were at a powwow.

You need to research buddy. Native looks different in different parts of the continent and even different tribes. They have different haplogroups too. Choctaw & Chickasaw are supposed to be closely related but their reported Mtdna lineages aren't the same. It even varies within the tribe. The same is true of all tribes. I've seen Choctaw DNA tests showing that most of their DNA comes from the X2a/Kennewick Man strand. You have to understand that your haplogroup isn't necessarily your majority DNA. I can inherit a female matrilineal heritage and have very little Native DNA. Most Choctaw majority haplogroup is A2, but the DNA shows the majority of the bloodline comes exclusive to North America, not South or Central. Which is the X2a group. X2a is Native American because it doesn't exist anywhere only but the type of DNA material it is is most closely related to West Europeans and Middle Easterners. Meaning, North American Native can be extremely light skin compared to Native Mexican. Native Mexican don't have as much descent from X2a lineages, Choctaws, Chickasaws, Lakotas, Algonquin speakers do. Even though it's not always the primary Mtdna haplogroup.

So the type of European & Native a Mexican is, is a browner type of European & Native than an admixed Choctaw is. On both sides. (Iberian + Mesoamerican is darker than Anglo + North American)

Even so, the full blood Choctaw DNA also shows 30% from Native Mexican lineages. 🤔 Whereas a Native Mexican might show 100% Native Mexican. You see?

That don't make us citizens of Mexico though. 🤔 Those lineages were in the Choctaw before 1492. 🤔 But it's less than 30% of the individual. Whereas 70% of the material is from the exclusively North American related groups, the exclusively North American related groups are most well represented by people who look more like Lakotas for example and can be almost European looking even when full blood. 👀
