Native American Heritage Month 2023: Implementing Indigeneity & Indigenous Ways Of Being webinar

November marks Native American Heritage Month, and Rio Salado delves into the heart of Indigenous wisdom and experience.
Rowdy Duncan of Phoenix College, brings more than a decade of experience in the field of diversity and inclusion. As a full-time Phoenix College communication faculty member, Duncan’s emphasis on interpersonal communication, public speaking, and intercultural communication has positioned him as a dynamic force in fostering understanding and dialogue.
Rowdy has been in the JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) field since 2001. He is an expert at non-hierarchical leadership and an innovator with a variety of workshops informing about issues related to colorblindness, Interest Based Negotiations, Nonviolent Communication and Conflict Resolution, Positive Masculinity, and seeing people as Possibilities.
Duncan won the 2014 Arizona Diversity Alliance’s Diversity Champion Award and the John and Suanne Rouche Award for Excellence for the Community College from the League of Innovation in 2015.
Following the keynote presentation, Duncan will take part in a dialogue led by 2023-24 Rio Salado student senator Beka Namachanja and 2020-21 student senator and Rio Salado alumni Cordero Holmes.
