I have been searching for this cute sound in my back yard and now I know is Common Koel. Thank you!
@AlanBondFilms3 жыл бұрын
It is a cute sound but the only trouble with this bird is that it takes over other bird's nests and kicks those birds and eggs or babies out!! Such is nature!!

@@AlanBondFilms Thank you for the information. However, I found all the birds singing are very interesting.

The bird around my house is Pied currawong, always singing and calling 😀👍
@AlanBondFilms Жыл бұрын
Yes, they have a lovely call, cheers Alan
@Damian-tq3yk Жыл бұрын
You got the koel right, but the other two are way off. That currawong sound is actually a Bowerbird - the crikking sound. And I don't think you picked up the coucal's call. Anyway, what does it matter? It doesn't. Have a nice day :)

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check the video again as I do have a lot of bower birds as well as others at many times in my backyard, cheers Alan

Thanks for the cool vid, the bird I can hear around my house was the common Koel so now I know 😎 Awesome 👍😀

I'm impressed with the coucals range. They have another common "descending bounce" call

Yes, it's a very nice call.

I’m 99% sure that wasn’t a coucal. I’m pretty sure it was a female Koel and male Koel together. The pheasant coucal has a much deeper call and sounds like giant drops of water in a drain

Great video ❤️

Thank you. Yes it is popular and I'm completely mystified why it is!!!
@demidron.2 жыл бұрын
That's a female koel, not a pheasant coucal. The bird we can hear during the currawong footage is a satin bowerbird, not a pied currawong.
@AlanBondFilms2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the clarity...but also there are a lot of birds in there making sounds. The Satin Bower Birds have their own videos, cheers Alan

amazig video! what is the plant in the koel part of the video?
@AlanBondFilms3 жыл бұрын
Not sure. They are a bush that has a type of berry come out then they flower. The birds love them, particularly the satin bower birds which you hear but not see in the film.

What is this bird called. Please tell me.
@AlanBondFilms3 жыл бұрын
It is called a Koel, and is actually an invasive species. They take over over birds nests.

Which bird is calling at 3:35?
@AlanBondFilms4 жыл бұрын
It's a Koel. There is one out there as I write this. Unusual call, but that's birdlife for you. Uses other birds nests so basically a squatter!!
@cherylreid57683 жыл бұрын
That’s a satin bowerbird. The bowerbirds are also heard in the earlier section where the currawong is chasing the frog. They make a number of different sounds.

@@AlanBondFilms I’m in the shoalhaven, Nowra I thought you would be close. All this lockdown has got me wondering around in the bush more! I was on bens walk heard a strange call but couldn’t see it high in the trees so started looking for bird calls! Your video came up and I’m pretty sure it was the Pheasant Coucal. Also have Perons tree frogs living in my yard. One in the gutter one living in a steel fence post that’s holds water. He is nice and safe in there! Cheers and thanks for sharing.

I hate that Koel. It's a cuckoo and kills other birds' chicks and eggs and that horrible noise it makes . .
@AlanBondFilms4 жыл бұрын
It does, but that's nature.
@destinycrew89004 жыл бұрын
does anyone know why it does this call. currently 3am for me and can’t sleep because of its awful sound
@johnnyswatts4 жыл бұрын
They are natives...
@pacomarveeny96404 жыл бұрын
They’re native... they don’t often kill other birds chicks. They parasitise other birds to bring up their young. Usually red wattlebirds and mudlarks. These birds need population control in some regions and the Koel has been nature’s successful population controller.
