Yes you're right there are not a lot of USA based videos on Native Camp, so I thank you for yours. !!!

My pleasure! I obviously don't have a clue about KZbin, but this company is so new and I feel like there are things I want to know.

Thanks so much for posting this! First time I've felt hopeful about teaching again online since Gogo shut down. Your stories about who you taught were especially encouraging to hear. Good luck to you and I'll keep following!

Hi I love your videos. I thought about Native Camp and started the process. Something was just troubling me about them so I began to do some research. I found many groups on Facebook with posts written by native speakers of all ages- many have had really bad experiences. Here’s a sampling- One teacher posted screenshots of her email conversations with NC- she wasn’t being paid- there were no problems with her bank information- when she asked about why she wasn’t getting paid they deactivated her- sent her an email asking her to provide ( again) her passport. She did- another email came from them saying that they wanted her to change her nationality!! She is an American! Born and raised there- tall, white and blonde. This also happened to Americans of color! Asked to change their nationality because students didn’t feel they were “native enough” !! Read lots of comments about teachers not being paid, having to pay penalties for cancellation when it was the student who canceled… much more. My Japanese husband advised me to steer clear of the company.

Hi there, how did you find downloading the beauty cam app? I see in South Africa it says it can’t be downloaded in our region

Hey, new subscriber here! Great video! I have my first class with NC in a few hours so a friend sent me this video. :) My main concern is if the "standby" button will work as it currently doesn't seem to. (I suppose it could only work when I have a class coming up, but don't want to risk it not working.) Did you have any issues with that? Thanks!
@letsspeakenglish27933 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Ester. Not sure if you have had your class yet. It was an option 5 minutes prior to each reserved class.

That standby button was confusing to me as well. I was able to successfully change the button to “stand by.” This may be because it took them a moment to approve me teaching sudden classes, I’m not sure.

Hi Sarahruth! Great Video! My name is Jeff and I just got hired to teach at Native Camp. I have a question. I'm having issues signing on to my Native Camp account to complete my profile page. I tried to contact Native Camp about the issue through their "contact us" page and they replied in an "email" asking me to email them screenshots of my issue. Well, when I use their "contact us" page it does not let you attach screen shots or anything. I also tried to "reply" to their email they sent me asking for screenshots, but I get a reply that their email is "send only" and I cannot reply to it. Do you possibly have a "Support" or "Admin" email I can use to send them screenshots of my issue? Thank you so much for your assistance!!!

Hi Sarahruth, Are you still teaching with Native Camp?

You are awesome Sarah! I enjoyed your video. I’m wondering how often they pay. Thanks for the info! What is your referral code?
@letsspeakenglish27932 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay. They use our email as the referral information. I put it in the information for this video. Congrats on being hired! Pay is bi-monthly.

Hi, TYSM for your video! Super helpful! Was wondering a few things... - Did you teach classes w the background u have in this video? I keep hearing that they prefer a white, plain background but am wondering if they are real sticklers about it. - What is feedback after class like? Is there a formal place to put it after classes? - Have you received badges? Do we need to have them to teach? Thanks again for your video - super helpful! :)
@letsspeakenglish27933 жыл бұрын
I did, yes. My understanding is they want a white background for your static profile image. You can do that in Canva easily. They desire a professional background for in class.

Hoping you could clarify this for me - I applied to Nativecamp and found a couple videos on actual lessons on youtube. It was honestly hard to watch because the teacher literally read from a script, and had the student repeat after them. This is not how I learned how to teach ESL and definitely don't agree with the methods. Was this your experience, or could you tailor your lesson plants to how you want? Thanks

Did you do a booked class or a sudden class?
@letsspeakenglish27932 жыл бұрын
I did booked the first week. I am taking a few sudden when I have free time to see if I can get some regulars.

Should I still apply if I don't have teaching experience??
@letsspeakenglish27933 жыл бұрын
I do not recommend it. They state you should have experience as an educator.
@veronicamurchie38382 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can. It's only if you're Filipino that you need 6 months experience

They pay is too low I heard that they listen more to the students than to the tutors.
@letsspeakenglish27932 жыл бұрын
It is possible. They pay native speakers $9 per 25 minute class.
