I would have preferred all flutes in the same key, and all playing the same song for a better comparison, but I appreciate the video. Thanks.

This was so helpful. I really found this useful in determining which flute I want to try next. Thank you

I also appreciate you taking the time to do this, thank you, but for a comparison that would be more useful for myself ta comparison between flutes in the same key playing the same song would have highlighted strengths and weaknesses and overall sound quality more clearly. :)

Despite them being different keys and woods, I got a good idea of the voicing of each maker. There were also some makers in there I was not familiar with. Thank you!

The Laughing Crow, Heartsong and Ancient Territories were the stand outs for me. Beautiful tones.

Nice comparison. I only wish the flutes were "closer" to the same key. These cover a fairly wide range and makes it a little difficult to compare directly from one maker to the next. Thanks for doing this! I like to do the same type of thing and it helps me to see how others go their take on it.

Most of them are close (F#, G, or A) a couple were above or below. In the future, we will try to have all A's or F#'s and also include all the wood information and other details. Seems like this type of video is needed.

@@KalaniMusic Not sure if it's appropriate to mention another maker (if not please delete this message), but I'd like to see Stellar Flutes included in the next video. I bought one of their 'Basic' flutes a couple months ago and found it plays better than another well known 'brand' but cost half the price. Was very pleased with their work and will be dealing with them more in the future.

Thanks for the video Kalani! It was actually very reassuring in that I have one of these flutes (won't say which) and it always sounds excessively 'breathy' to me, but I heard the same when you played it. Glad it's not just me and poor technique on my part!

Thank you very much Kelani for this flute comparison. Even though they were in different keys it does give you an idea of the tone of the different flute makers. I would say my three favorite were: Ancient Territories flute Heartsong flutes Laughing Crow flutes. I personally always preferred a clear less reedy/buzzy tone.

Also, it would have been helpful to know what kind of wood was used to make each flute.

Woodsounds is way overpriced compared to the quality of sound from these more affordable brands. - The flutes are beautiful but that guy is crazy. The sound is horrible compared to a butch hall or high spirits.
