Native Pico 8 on RG35XX Plus muOS

It works out of the box on batocera cfw and i have it working under muos 9.1, using batocera libs as SDL2 is currently broken on muos 9.1 but it will be fixed in v10 which should hit testing soon
pico8_dyn binary is what works.
I had another issue on muos though wget could not work with https urls, so i builded my own wget and added a setting for wget so it never verifies certificates as the root certs (ca-certificates) is not installed either on muOS rootfs
can't release anything until SDL2 is fixed in muos but you can get it working natively in batocera CFW already see wiki.batocera....

I'll have to wait till muos V10 is availble for general public, in V9.1 (current public version) SDL2 lib is broken / does not work but in V10 test preview this is fixed. In V10 there is still an issue with wget but this may be fixed before it hits the general public (i can't know for sure but people are aware of it). if the V10 public release does not have a fix for the wget stuff i'll post my binary + sh file to get it to work. If v10 does have the fix all you need to do is basically download raspberry pi pico 8 and run pico8_dyn. The way i got to work currently on muos V9.1 was by copying the complete lib folder from batocera (minus libasound lib) and use LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to that lib folder so the batocera libs got loaded, if you do this already pico 8 will run however splore won't work correctly due to the wget problem not being able todo https calls. From what i heared V10 test release should hit general public by end of month. You also need to add "deeply_keys" controller config from a gamecontrollerdb.txt from batocera for SDL2 in SDL_Controllers files under .lexaoffice in the home folder (run pico once and it'll appear)

hello, I really don't get how you did it. I followed the guide on batocera but can't get splore to launch. Worst, emulated pico 8 won't work either after this. Would you know where I could read about getting it to work?

if you followed the guide, the thing it does not mention is that you need to rename pico8_dyn to pico8 and pico8 to pico8.bak first

@@WillemsDavy thank you so much for answering. Sadly it still does not work. I get a 1 seconde black screen and then it goes back to the game selection menu. And the emulator won’t work either. My guess is that in the guide I never could do the chmod +x part, being on windows, I just can’t find how to make the pico8 (previously pico8_dyn) executable.

@@zazennoir288 that probably is not the issue, you may have done something else wrong as anything on exfat or fat32 is always set as executable
