Native Titan X 12.5 Kayak Review

I wanted to give everyone a look at the new Native Watercraft Titan X 12.5, all its features and the way I have it rigged. This is my initial nonbiased opinion before taking it out on the water. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section. Hopefully I can help someone out with this video.

Bru...I just got back from picking mine up at the truck depot. I, and one of the workers, loaded it on my truck. The weight of this thing took my soul. I salute you for putting wheels on this beast. I ordered a trailer and the kayak at the same time. Dang if the kayak showed up first. I have absolutely no intentions of pushing, pulling, muscling or sliding this thing ever again after I get it on the soon to arrive trailer. Can't wait to fit it out and get it on the water. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!

I don't have any room for a trailer so I had to put the wheels on it. I'm thinking about buying the dynamic dolly to haul it around. She does have a little wait to her. lol I defiantly want to see pics once you rig her up.

Awesome video my brother. Thank you so much for the info. I bought this kayak without seeing it in Puerto Rico. I have a house there but currently live in Pennsylvania. Headed to Puerto Rico in March to pick it up and bring it home. Can't wait to try it out there in the ocean. I will keep you posted. My wife came in while I was watching this video. She said great just great you are gonna get one because of this guys videos arent you. You were the bad guy. Then you pulled out the ahhhh pretty little dog on the kayak trick. All is forgiven. Crazy how we were the dummys until the dog got some camera time and now your all good and I am getting a kayak. WOW Bro that's a beast of a battleship........I have a Hobie outback and went to a Kay shop here in South Australia and looked at this Native. Hey Chris, thanks for sharing, this was a good review. I see you are new to making videos so just a little constructive input: I personally struggled with saying Ahhhh, Ahhhh ahhh lot in my videos I had to make a very concerted effort to stop doing it. You, basically have a challenge in basically not saying basically at the beginning of every basic sentence. LOL we all have those mannerism of one kind or another just being aware and doing a lot of takes, can help you eliminate repetitive speech. Thanks again for sharing and good luck with the channel.

Basically you are correct. When I was in college I basically became aware of my basically problem. I am definitely going to work on it but I'm extremely camera shy that's why it has taken forever to get the channel going. Just a little nervous. I think I did better in the other videos.

Nice video and nice kayak! Good set-up. I have a Native Slayer Propel 10 and I love it. I also have to mention, love the dog! He reminds me of my recently deceased poodle, Molly. I sure do miss her! Good luck this year on the water.

Nice overview Chris. The TitanX is on my short list along with the PA14. The only reason I like the PA is because the drive works better in thick hydrilla, but I love the idea of instant reverse for fishing docks.

Hi Matt, both are excellent kayaks and you can't make a bad choice with either. I went with the Titan X because of the stability.

Could you not slide the landing gear back a couple of inches that would give you more rod clearance?

Yes that's possible but I try to keep the landing gear in a position that makes it easier to transport.

if you have foot controls it gets in the way as well have to use shorter foot control pegs

Yall help me decide. Titian X 12.5 or PWR129? I can’t decide Going to add Newport 180pro to whichever I get. All saltwater inshore and bay fishing

That's a great question and it's going to really depend on what you want. I would say if stability is your main concern, then without a doubt go with the Titan X 12.5. If you want more speed I would say the PWR129. The PWR129 is less expensive, lighter and faster than the Titan X, but if your using a trailer the weight is a non-issue. The Titan X also will win in comfort, with the new swivel 360 seat design. My main concern is always going to be safety so I will lean toward the Titan X 12.5. If anyone else would like to help out please chime in below.

Nice, just be careful with the landing gear, ive bent two on my slayer max 12.5 which is much lighter. Also the landing gear will make the kayak super nose heavy.

I couldn't keep my Sidekick landing gear tight in my gear tracks and if its loose, its worthless so I just took them off. Someday I might put them back on if I can find a way to secure them.
