I dried the seeds and grew kabocha. My whole yard was full of pumpkins, I got 15 pumpkins and counting this year. I’m going to throw a bunch of seeds in the public, and maybe I can harvest feral kabocha. Very excited for next year

Not only can you eat the skin ,but it tastes just as good as the inside. That's what makes it so special and easy to eat. Just cut it up put a bit of salt and pumkin pie type spices and steam until tender. Incredible. Hard to find though. I actually discovered it at Publix where a case of it came in the store by accident. Or did it ? lol

My favorite squash has always been buttercup which is rare to find where I live now. This type is common here on the Canadian west coast and is very similar if not identical to buttercup.

Just FYI, it’s a good source of folate, not folic acid. Folic acid is a synthetic form of the naturally occurring folate (also known as B9). Not hating, just educating!
