Finally the Kucova air base of my town is seeing new life again. The jet engines are roaring again......very soon US fighter jets will be deployed here again. This base with its perfect strategic position not only around the Balkan region but also Asia, Middle east and North Africa is unique. Given also the perfect weather in Kucova with full sunshine all year round without no winds or cold, allows airplanes to lift at any moment. Also compare to other airfileds of NATO in Europe, Rammstein (1 runway 3.2 km long only), Aviano, (2.5 km 1 runway only), or Incirlk (1 runway 2.5 km only) etc... but here there are 2 long strips 2.8 and 2.5 km and space to expand this based as much as needed in the field around if needed. Also concrete tunnels to store fighter jets in the mountains and many many other geographical advantages. And the unsurpassed advantage of stable climate and very open airspace between two large mountains. It will become one of the main air bases of Nato (USA meaning) in Europe and ASIA once Turkey falls out of NATO which is going towards that direction.
