NATO summit in Wahington without von der Leyen | Piotr Kaczyński

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will not attend next week's NATO summit in Washington, D.C. Instead, she will focus on convincing European lawmakers at home to vote for her as she seeks a second term. European Council President Charles Michel and chief diplomat Josep Borrell will represent the bloc next week. Geremek Foundation EU expert Piotr Kaczyński joins us to discuss the situation.

EU is not just an economic union - it encompasses every sector of the union including economy, defence, climate, environment, technology, etc. but Ursula von den Leyen has to make sure her position is secured (which at this time is not) first.
