This song perfectly describes what I'm feeling... I was just thinking about my dream to live a life true to myself, living in a straight line, being perfectly honest. I still worry and overthink about balancing what I want and what I assume other people think is right. This song made me realize that maybe I'm "the only one who is scared of being right". Because other people don't actually care about my ideals. Yet, I continue to worry so much and overthink despite wanting to live my life being true to myself. Personal narrative aside, I felt like this song is about a person who's convincing his younger self that it's okay to be selfish and to live his dream ~ following your dream, being true to yourself must have felt so refreshing and freeing! Having freedom to think about what's right for yourself is the opposite of social construct, which must've felt like a cult sometimes 😂 ❤

That's exactly the way I see the song to be honest 👍and it made me feel similarly as well. I hope you are able to find that balance and have all the happiness in your life 💜 You deserve it! 💯

I love the thorough examination and analogy of your interpretation of the songs meaning behind its lyrics and imagery. I imagine many of us struggle with self-identity and the concern/fear of what others want us to be Vs what we aspire to be. Something that’s been weighing on my mind lately. No matter the case you have a dream- chase it to the ends of the Earth, no matter how simple, no matter how complex that goal may seem to others. “Thank you for coming to my TED talk.” 🩵🫂

@@Rikuyami_x hahah xD thank you, I think that's why a lot of us resonate with this song! Agree, a lot of successful people (hopefully that means happy people) are those who have a single minded pursuit for their goals xD I really envy those ppl!
natori really has a different style of music compared to other artist right now, and i really like the vibes of each song that he created. natori's very talented!!!
This is the first time i've ever heard this kind of melody, it's like a math rock with something to go for. I can't express or say it in words with the proper meaning of what i want to say. All i want to give is that this song is so soothing…

I can't explain why but ever since this song released like in 2022 if I remember correctly, its become a core part of my soul its weird af. Ironic considering its called Cult.
I feel exactly like this song, and Natori's whole 'Theater' album,,.. I listen to this and all the other songs almost everyday since a few months ago, thinking, when's it gonna get better? I hope it gets better, I really hope I can look back and finally say to myself that 'yea, it's okay' and that I can breathe and be 'me' for once, if I didn't lose that part of me,,

literally obsessed with all of his songs and his voice
I don't usually enjoy music videos with songs, but the lyrics and video work really well together and I enjoyed it as someone who came from a place who didn't encourage the individual. I can relate to what it means for Japanese, just in a different context. 4:10 really hit me, both lyrics and the video.
