Hello thanks for watching my videos. As you start the boiler the water temperature rise and accordingly volume will rise and the level will increase. That's why the boiler started with a little lower level than the normal level .

Very nice video. Can you please tell me why baffle plate are used? 1) To hold the tubes of HRSG or to direct the flue gas toward tubes by avoiding flue gas leak of at the empty ended section? I think the most critical paet of power plant is boiler section because boiler section is only opened at outage seasions. Prolong operations can cause hotspots which can only be rectified during outages. If tubes get dirty (heavy sulphur deposits) then you can rectifoed that issue only at outages thus compromisong on heat rate

As you rightly mentioned baffle plates are used for directing flue gases in desired direction

Most of the HRSG are top supported, means hanging from top and free at the lower side for expansion. To keep it in proper shape in between there are clamps which tie tubes from each other and support. Baffle and not used for support

Hot spots are mainly due to poor workmanship. We should carry thermography on the outer surface of HRSG (mainly superheater area) regularly and attend all high temperature spots and get it checked by refractory engineer

@@powerplantguru007 In some power plant there are two parties owner and O&M. Most of time neither one party takes responsibility of recitifying hotspot issue , both parties blame other and with help of CSA (contractual agreement) clauses ask other party to pay for job

Do you know how much is the vaporization inside the riser tubes? Is there a limit? How to determine this?

theoretically 100% vaporization is the best option , but to prevent high temperature damage to tubes, normally vaporization is kept around 50%
