Have you tried any of these "natural" and "non-toxic" cleaning products?
@darkisland043 жыл бұрын
I'd be VERY careful not to overuse any of these products. The largest amount needed of dish detergent, for instance, is about two tablespoons for an entire sink worth of dishes. Detergents of any kind are a mild toxin, which is very good for killing germs and bacteria on dishes. If one uses more than a couple of tablespoons worth, though, by applying it repeatedly to a dishcloth, it's hard to get all that extra toxin off the dishes. When you're eating of those dishes, you get a huge extra load of detergent along with your food. The body responds to that extra load of extra toxicity by causing increased urination, very loose stools, and diarrhea. Often, massive diarrhea. It makes for a VERY uncomfortable day!

I love that you acknowledged the impact of the parent company of these products! I DIY my products, but I know a lot of people don't care to make the switch. I've turned a few of my friends on to Blueland products which seems to be convenient enough for most people to handle lol.

Great video! They’re not perfect but better than most. If that’s all someone has access to, it’s good to be educated on it. 😊

I DIY my cleaning products. Less waste and i know exactly whats in them :)

I'm about to start doing the same. For people who have no desire to make their own products (ie my mom, and typically older generations), I would encourage them to at least switch to these products rather than using bleach lol

Look out for SONETT cleaning products and laundry detergents. They are really made eco-friendly and they are non toxic. They are made in Germany and are very easy to buy at least online or in health stores. AlmaWin is also very good. Have a look into them. I am from Germany and I was in search for eco-friendly and skin friendly things to use, since I have bad excema. It helped me very much to avoid irritations.

most maintenance workers say they only use the vinegar, dish soap, water solution combination.

I wish I could go to my nearest Target and get the round squeeze bottles of scented Mrs. Meyer's liquid dish soap so I could smell the scents at my home. Besides rinsing the dishes, I could use the soap for rinsing my hands. I don't even online shop for those bottles. I just wish I could personally get either 1 bottle or 2 bottles at once so I could try the scents.

I think covering specifically disinfecting etc which is what a lot of non low waste people have trouble finding swaps for is what I’ve noticed. I really like Lysol’s hydrogen peroxide line and most are A’s on ewg website and covers disinfecting , great website ewg is more people need to know about it!
@putmeonwithtj67662 жыл бұрын
You do not need to disinfect because over disinfecting causes super bugs unless someone has an illness such as the flu. If so spray the surface areas with peroxide and let it sit before wiping.

Meyers hand soap smells SO STRONGLY if someone washes their hands with it I can smell them from meters away... as if they sprayed themselves with perfume

Seriously! That can't be healthy.

I tried ms Meyers sushi soap but they were too perfumey on my dishes even after they were rinsed clean the perfume was still present.

The best natural whole house cleaner is Force of Nature, hands down. It's completely safe, the active ingredients are used in eyewashing and wound care. And it's super cheap, after the initial investment. $1.25 per 12oz refill.

I am so discouraged. ALL DAMN brands are greenwashing :( Unless you go to a store with hand made natural products, there's no way to have clean products.. But I don't have one close to where I live.
@NaturallyMermaid4 жыл бұрын
It really is discouraging. However, I do believe it's still at least a little better than buying the top brands. Plus, we vote with our dollars so every time we buy one of the brands, it shows stores that we want more, and hopefully it will lead to more trustworthy brands making it onto the shelves. Otherwise we have to start buying our cleaning products from smaller brands online. I still haven't made the jump to do that.

What clean , green, non-toxic, safe cleaning products do you use ? I have discovered as you that most of the so called safe cleaners are not safe to use. And I ha eveen turned onto a safe non-toxic effective affordable and American made cleaners that are plant based . So happy to not have to open my windows and cough. But breath in the amazing smells of natural essential oils used for fragrance. I am crispy not crunchy and I don't want to make all my cleaners with vinegar or lemons. Yes vote with our dollars and not support agendas that may not align with yours from the big box stores. Reach out to me if you want more info to make a well informed decision on if the cleaners I use are going to work for your family like it does mine.
