Danny Some people feel they must use what the mainstream docs recommend, even tho' those meds are KNOWN to be deadly. Same with people who will not consider holistic medicines, because they have been brainwashed into using deadly Rx instead of safer supplements.

Hey,i just wanted to share a natural remedy tip for yal. When dogs ingest fleas while grooming they can get tapeworms . If you give your dog raw carrot, either shredded or carrot sticks( my yorkies and my 80 pd APBT love the sticks like candy) the carrots will kill the tapeworms and also the eggs in their stomachs. I have seen it work with a yorkie . Its pretty gross when they pass them the next day or next time they poop. Much better than a shot or pills or any other chemical for sure. Summer months in North Alabama are perfect breeding mos because of heat and humidity so i have to keep a close watch for them being brought back inside. We have a lot of stray cats that come to eat so they get in my yard ,then jump on my dogs when we go for walks even tho i do give them flea protection. Also, if you mix a spray bottle with ACV( apple cider vinegar). , Water, and a few drops of blue Dawn and spray their feet before bringing them back inside it helps . Putting the diamateceous earth( food grade) outside the door and around the yard it helps too . The DE penetrates their exoskeleton and basically dries them out. Its like little shards of glass ,so try not to let your dogs or yourself breathe it into lungs. I had to stop using the DE inside when i started raising birds. If you use it outside you have to reapply after it rains.

@@CB-ob3gw fleas & tapeworms are a "cycle" scenario altogether. You have to control the fleas first, because they feed on the tapeworm eggs. If you've ever noticed little "sesame seeds" around your cat's bedding, on your clothes, or even on your bedding (lint rollers are a MUST) then your cat has tapeworms. Those "seeds" are pods that come off tapeworms, containing eggs inside. They're difficult to see except on dark fabrics or lint rollers. You'll have to clean those up DAILY. Also, fleas lay nearly 60 eggs a day, which can become an infestation in no time. Get a flea comb & comb pets often. Apple Cider Vinegar can be sprayed around your home safely, just dilute it equal parts water & add Dawn dish soap. Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) is great, just keep pets away while you spread it around. Pumpkin seeds, oregano, and coconut oil are great for dogs/cats in ridding tapeworms. Add a teaspoon of ACV to pets water too. Clean often, and understand it's a process to be fully rid these 2 main pests. Best of luck!

Eucalyptus oil can be toxic to dogs if ingested or applied to their skin. The smell of eucalyptus oil can irritate a dog's respiratory system, causing coughing, sneezing, and nasal discharge. If ingested, eucalyptus oil can cause stomach and neurological issues, including seizures. If applied to a dog's skin, eucalyptus oil can cause allergic reactions or chemical burns.

I found by accident a way to keep fleas from getting away and killing at same time. My cat spends lots of time out side so every day I use flea comb. The live fleas can jump a mile off the comb. I had some petroleum . I now keep a paper towel beside me with a big glob on it. As soon as I clean the comb it goes into the jelly. Suffocate flea and stops jumping or running. Also keeps hair from flying all over.

I love DE and it is working to bring down the flea population in my house, but I’ve noticed that my FIV cat’s back is a bit more itchy/sensitive post DE. I’m still learning about FIV (I have 2 FIV+’s) and hope to join the Inner Circle so I can ask add’l questions about holistic FIV+ care. I so want to avoid using Capstar, but treating fleas while not being able to touch one of my cats (rescue, taming in-process) is challenging. Your feline supplement and kidney disease video advice saved my 2 older cats’ lives and I plan on my getting my new cats on the supplement ASAP. Thanks!

En Sabah Nur I have read that it is not healthy to breathe DE (Diatomaceous Earth) because it will do the same to you and your pet's lungs as it does to the fleas (microscopically make cuts inside). I have used boric acid (borax) on my carpets, upholstery, along the baseboard on the floor, etc. and it is very effective in eliminating fleas. I only use DE outside. If it says "Ant and Crawling Insect Killer" on the box then it is not "food grade". "Food grade" means that you can ingest it. There is not a need to use "food grade" outside.

I hooked up with a friend of mine that lived in a slumlord house and had roaches everywhere.I talked the slumlord into letting me put DE in the walls and this got rid of the roaches in about a month. The DE ripped out the bottom sides of the roaches as they crawled though it.I forgot to put my dust mask on and it cut the inside of my nose and made it bleed for a couple days.Don't breath it in if you don't have to.There must be two kinds of DE because i've heard of people eating it.

Yes, there is Bruce ... there is a commercial type of DE and a food grade ... always get the food grade ... and if working with DE always wear a mask ... though you didn't mention this, DE should be used in places where there wouldn't be a lot of wind movement so as to prevent the DE from becoming airborne and breathing it in ... hope you are feeling better :)

SAFE TO USE but horrible to clean up. My daughter DUSTED our entire house with this. I could barely breathe until it settled and then literally EVERYTHING in the house was covered in a fine white dust - EVERYTHING. So clean is not going to be fun or easy, but very time consuming because every single item is going to need to be wiped down NOT DUSTED because tried that and it just shows right back up so SOME TYPE OF WET/DAMP cleanup up. AND SADLY, sitting on day 2 of this house covered - ran flea comb through the dog and 2 cats and still getting fleas off them...not dead or dying, but hopping live fleas. THEY SAY DO IT A SECOND TIME...I don't think I can live through a second time

Dear Dr. Jones, I gave my dog Bravecto and she got sick, drooling , panting, vomiting diarrhea. Then I found the page, "does Bravecto kill dogs, and apparently there have been many deaths from this flea and tick med . I was horrified and disappointed that my vet, whom I trusted, gave this to me for my dog....never mentioned any side effects. Thinking I was doing something good for my dog, I administer this treatment to her. No problem there, she loved the taste. Although I will never give this to her again. NEVER! I feel fortunate that she didn't die. Merck has now agreed to add seizures to the list of side effects. But they threaten to sue the site called Does Bravecto Kill Dogs if you refer to it as a poison, which I believe it is. My vet gives Bravecto to all four of her dogs and has never had a problem. I hope they take this scary pesticide off the market. It`s killing our fur babies!

Is boric acid safe for people and pets? Categorized as a poison, boric acid can present dangers to humans and animals. According to the Natural Pesticide Information Center, boric acid toxicity ranges from minor to serious. Minor toxicity usually results in skin and eye irritation. More serious toxicity can result in symptoms such as respiratory problems, muscle weakness and headaches. In cases of extreme toxicity, boric acid can lead to kidney failure in people. In animals, boric acid toxicity is connected to blood conditions and problems with the endocrine system. Toxicity in pets tends to be more severe based on the animal's size. Smaller pets, such as dogs, cats and hamsters, are more likely to experience dangerous symptoms. Also , that is a myth about diatomaceous hurting our lungs if ingested... plus you don’t want to use no food grade as it contains crystalline silica which is very harmful to human and pets. Most pets rummage around the yard eating grass, chewing sticks, etc.. when you are doing research, do more to educate yourself rather than listening to a friend who may or may not have a half baked theory... in this case, your friend doesn’t know what they are talking about and have clearly not done research through credible sources.. ya know like the lies coming from Donald trumps mouth... ( there is a thing called fact checking which is most valuable in the human pysche... ohhh what a piece of mind it can give!! You should try it.. instead of pointing out silly little comments to undermine a veterinarian. Sorry... just saying!!

Help. I have used a full bottle of food grade DE over time on my dog and cat and carpets etc, baking soda and salt on the carpets, put raw apple cider vinegar in their water and some in a spray bottle and spritz them between DE applications among many other things, and still have a flea problem. On top of that, my dog has allergies to various things and can easily end up with yeast infections. Benadryl doesn't do much more than help her sleep, (I only give it to her if she is crying with it). The vet in our area is super expensive and has started telling us to take her in even though she was already there?.?. She says we haven`t had her there since 2014 when it was just this summer she was there. We have the bills to prove it. This all started with the rabies shots. Each one made it worse and now it is constant. I hate seeing her like this and am seriously considering having her put to sleep...it is so heartbreaking . Should I try advantage II or something like it? If you can think of anything else, please let me know. Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you for reading this.

I am going to use a good brand flea and tick spray sparingly on my dog, I have Richards Organics and Vets Best. I also want him to wear an all natural collar. Any recomendations? The ingredients and oils vary greatly.

I would avoid the collars. Cedarwood oil as a spray is best alternative.

Veterinary Secrets Thank your Dr. Jones. I did some homework and took your advice. I settled on a reputable cedar oil flea and tick product with a safe formulation for dogs and cats. My dog does not seems to mind it and we have had a few successful outings with it. Thanks!

My kittens did not enjoy the bathing process. If I didn't have dishwashing gloves on my hands they would have been scratched up big-time as there were big holes in them even after I cut their nails! Any suggestions?

Dr. Jones, I am wondering if Bravecto could have caused the problems that my GSD has. He has progressively lost use of his back legs and experiences twitching when I massage around his spine to relieve tension. He also has hot, sweaty feeling skin and trembles/shakes off and on for seemingling no reason. The first side effect I noticed was the shaking and hotness of his skin. I had him genetically tested by a specialist for DM. She said he carries the gene, but it's not being expressed. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Also, I have been holistically battling fleas this summer, which give him a bad skin reaction. That is a separate issue, but the other symptoms above also happened regardless of fleas.

I notice people demonstrate natural flea remedies more with dogs. I'd like to see a demonstration with a cat. One spray of a mister and our cat would flee.

Well I was giving my dogs Trifexis during the summer months. Now I am not so sure that is a good idea. Also how do you feel about heart worm preventive? I have been using Heartguard plus except in summer of course since Trifexis covers that.

Vetinary Secrets . I Hope you dont mind me asking but on the left hand side of watching your video there is what looks like two long black fur paws dangling and stretched out from the shelf - they seem not attached to an animal or anything. Strange. What are they or it? Im confused because when you turned your dog round on the table to treat it, I couldnt see it's front paws and couldnt see them anywhere. Its like he doesnt have any.. Though I did quickly catch his back legs. Can you explain please. i hope you can put my mid at rest.
