Mine runs off the solar farm that’s on the 5 acres north of the main house!

What do these units cost $5,000, $7,000, $10,000, and up. Of course that does not include taxes, labor, permits and god knows what else. I bought a 6,500 watt gas only generator for $699 and added a Motor Snorkel for $200 to convert to tri fuel. Other than costal areas with frequent storms, how often have you personally experienced a power outage? For me it was 2 times in 20 years, one 1 day and the other 5 days. Is that worth a $5,000, $7,000, $10,000+ investment. What the hell are you powering, in an emergency, that requires 10KW or 22KW, geesh. My nominal non cooking and non AC power consumption, for 2 people, is 2,000 watts. That covers LED lights, fridge, freezer, 2 TVs, 2 media players, 2 laptops, combo boiler/water heater, 1 media server PC, router and cable modem. If I want to run my AC, there is room. If I want to use a coffee maker, microwave, kettle, toaster, toaster oven or hot plate, I just have to be mindful and only use 1 or 2 at a time.

They’re very valuable for people on the east coast especially the southeast where hurricanes occur, they were also nice in Texas during the snow storms when electric couldn’t do the job
