6:17 To be fair, when you're very likely to have relatives in both places and when the royal family of one is also an essential part of the other, it shouldn't be that surprising that most people in both Portugal and Brazil didn't want to fight the members of their own families living on the other side of the Atlantic. What I don't get though is why the same thing didn't apply to Spain and its own colonies in Latin America as much; my guess would be due to the fact that the transition of power from the independence movements wasn't done by any of the heirs to the Spanish throne like Brazil's was by the heir to the Portuguese one.

5:55 - and speaking of the Russian empire, the best way to hurt a Finnish nationalist is to bring up the hilarious fact Mannerheim considered himself a good and loyal Russian, and was a personal friend of the Russian imperial family, and fought on the side of the Russian empire in the Russian Civil War. The only reason he became a Finnish figure and fought for Finland was to carry on the legacy of the Russian empire in Finland by protecting it from communism. So Finland‘s greatest national hero was a total Russia Simp.

Too bad USA simps don't actually protect capitalism, but run the biggest planned economy ponzi scheme ever with petrodollar. Better be proud of an actual federation instead of a literal oligarchy, that calls itself "a nation" but doesn't grant national self-governing rights to states. Spanish speaking americans don't even get education in Spanish, because it's all monolingual erasure. USA clamps down on actual national unity and calls it secession, balkanization, because Americans ONLY get a federal empire with gerrymandering. EVERY STATE would be "conquered by USA" by the same standard and shamefully not using their 2nd amendment when the moment is HERE. They jsut use it to create September 11 seven times every year, and don't even invade te offending Federation, but Iraq.

As a Canadian who lives in Toronto and loving our 30 degree (90 degree Fahrenheit) summers and BBQs in the back yard below -10 degrees (10 degree F), I think you only got half of weather issue correct for Canadians. We hold the Calgary Stampede (World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo), Caribbean Carnival (2nd largest Carnival in world), multiple Pride Parades (Toronto's is 2nd largest in world) are only some of the outdoor festivals we Canadians enjoy during the 30+ degree days of summer. It is true, Brits hate both extremes, and the Aussies hide at the feel of a cool breeze in spring or fall, but Canadians love the extreme temps more than the milk-toast, can't-make-up-your-mind 0-10 degree temps.

0:34 In my 31 years, I have already lived in 3 times as many homes as the average German and I've yet to find one that doesn't have any drywall. My current place may not have a single proper wall but the house my flat is in used to be a factory and I literally live under the roof, so that one kinda makes sense for that reason. Edit: Okay, I checked, I do have solid walls. A very long one (15-ish m) along one side of the flat and a short (couple meters) one perpendicular to that. Too bad that's the hallway and kitchen and not where I actually need insulation, lol. As a teenager, I once did punch drywall, thinking it was solid, and I did (partially) end up in the kitchen. Very embarrassing.

Undoubtedly much more peaceful than the independence of the Spanish colonies, but Brazilian independence was not without conflicts. The process started in January 9, 1822, with the I Will stay' day (Dia do Fico), When the Prince Regent failed to comply with an order to return to Portugal. So on September 7th, after the Portuguese crown decided to demote Brazil from the United Kingdom to a colony, independence was declared. There were armed clashes between troops loyal to Brazil and Portugal in the provinces of Bahia, Grão-Para and Maranhão. The recognition of Brazilian independence by Portugal was only signed three years later

As a Canadian, I can confirm our +50 resistance to Cold Damage. I worked clean through the nasty cold snap we had, despite it getting to a point where the heat difference from the truck warming up caused the windshield to crack. I have quite frankly been enjoying the 0C t-shirt weather we've had.

My sister lives in Chicago so I’ve seen that river a few times and it’s really trippy and weird. The fish are fine though it’s harmless for the most part.
