4:55 I love the way he says it’s name to introduce it. And soundtrack was spot on.

You got the scientific name of the haast's eagle completely wrong, its correct scientific name is actually Harpagornis moorei.
@LukeSnywalker5232 ай бұрын
That name is outdated, it was found to be part of the genus Heiraaetus in 2018.
@indyreno29332 ай бұрын
@@LukeSnywalker523, nope, Hieraaetus is polyphyletic, the only extant species in the genus is the booted eagle (Hieraaetus pennatus), the haast's eagle still belongs to the genus Harpagornis while the wahlberg's, ayres's, pygmy, and little eagles are all removed from the genus, the walhberg's and ayres's eagles are both moved to the genus Ammaetus where their scientific names are now Ammaetus walhbergi and Ammaetus ayresii respectively and the pygmy and little eagles are both moved to the genus Milvaetus where their scientific names are now Milvaetus weiskei and Milvaetus morphnoides respectively The genera Ammaetus, Milvaetus, and Harpagornis are not closely related to the booted eagle (Hieraaetus pennatus) at all, the walhberg's eagle (Ammaetus walhbergi) and ayres's eagle (Ammaetus ayresii) are both more closely related to the imperial eagles (genus Archoraptor), golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), steppe eagle (Aquila nipalensis), tawny eagle (Aquila rapax), rufous-bellied eagle (Lophotriorchis kienerii), and black-chested eagle (Geranoaetus melanoleucus), the pygmy eagle (Milvaetus weiskei), little eagle (Milvaetus morphnoides), and haast's eagle (Harpagornis moorei) are all more closely related to the gurney's eagle (Uroaetus gurneyi), wedge-tailed eagle (Uroaetus audax), thick-boned eagle (Dynatoaetus pachyosteus), and mather's eagle (Dynatoaetus gaffae), and the booted eagle (Hieraaetus pennatus) is more closely related to both the bonelli's eagle (Pseudobuteo fasciatus) and cassin's eagle (Cassinaetus africanus), this study also indicates that fish eagles (genus Ichthyophaga) and sea eagles (genus Haliaeetus) are nestled deeply within the subfamily Aquilinae, where the spotted eagles (genus Clanga), spot-bellied eagle (Gigantokestrellus spilogaster), and black eagles (genus Ictinaetus) are their closest living relatives, the tribe Hieraaetini that contains only the monotypic genera Hieraaetus, Pseudobuteo, and Cassinaetus is the most basal and distantly related of the four tribes of Aquilinae (True Eagles), with the tribe Aquilini that contains the imperial eagles, golden eagle, steppe eagle, tawny eagle, rufous-bellied eagle, wahlberg's eagle, and ayres's eagle having evolved next, leaving the most recent split to be between the tribes Haliaeetini that contains the black eagles, spot-bellied eagle, spotted eagles, fish eagles, and sea eagles and Uroaetini that contains the currently living pygmy eagle, little eagle, gurney's eagle, and wedge-tailed eagle and the extinct iconic thick-boned eagle, mather's eagle, and haast's eagle

@@indyreno2933 Well that sounds interesting. Do you have a source?

They never included the whole name and kept it to the first part of the name also Haast’s Eagle was reclassified to Hieraeetus with its close relatives the little and booted eagle.
