Check out this revealing BTS for "The Moa and the Harpagornis" created by the talented folks over at Fido! They have created many feathered creatures through the years and that track record helped them secure some amazing sequences in Colossus Production"s groundbreaking factual entertainment production "David Attenborough"s Natural History Museum Alive", all made in stereoscopic 4K.
Fido was responsible for creating and bringing to life several extinct animals, including both the legendary Archaeopteryx and the iconic Dodo.
This is a look behind the scenes from their production of the two largest birds in the film: the enormous Moa and the impressive Harpagornis eagle.

Oh, I cannot get enough of this movie! The moa’s model and animation is gorgeous, and so is the Haast’s eagle! These two captivate me so dearly, and coupled with David’s narration, they really steal the show! Only thing I would have changed is having the moa boom and rumble instead of crying out the way it does. Other than that, 10/10 from your local paleontology nerd!

Fun fact: The scientific name for the moa is "Dinornis", which means "fearfully great bird". The scientific name for the Haast's eagle, "Harpagornis", means "snatching bird".

One minute and 47 seconds long? What good is that? Is it too many smart phone heads with 90 second attention spans? These 90 secont bits are a disgrace to the talent and legacy of Attenborough.
