I remember getting this as a child. Hated the taste would run and hide behind the couch. But it works. I'm 66 now and glad to see it's still being used.

🍯🧅🍯🧅🍯🧅🍯🧅🍯🧅🍯🧅🍯 Cut onions into chunks put them in a jar, pour honey over the top of them (pure local honey-preferably). Let sit for about 4 hrs on counter. Take 1-2 tsp or at a time. Will keep in the fridge for a while.

It's wonderful that you shared this it really is a classic. I do want you to know you that you shouldn't use metal utensils with honey. I learned this later in life and had no idea. Metal oxidation causes the sugars to break down in the honey . Anyway.. but thank you again for your clip great job👍🏻

I can confirm that this is the most effective thing I have tried with my cold but you might want to close your nose when you eat this. It made me gag but I just drank some juice to chase the taste away. It took away my cough 98% effective honestly

Several people said that you're not suppose to use a metal spoon when taking it. I forget the exact reason but they said it hurts its healing power or something. If true probably shouldn't stir it with a metal butter knife.

You don’t want to store the honey with anything metal in it for a long time. But, using a metal spoon for a few seconds won’t hurt anything. The wooden honey stirrers and sticks are sometimes left in the honey jar (you wouldn’t want to do that with metal).

Is the shelf life really a few months ? Because I saw an article that said if the onions are left inside the mason jar they’ll go bad after a week in the fridge . But the honey will last months if the onions are removed . Can anyone explain or clarify ?

First make it like in the video, because the onions also have moisture in them and the syrup will be thinner. For in the blender, I would separate the syrup and the onions, because in the blender there is a metal blade and that is not good for the honey. If you have had the onions in the blender, I think you can add them back to the syrup.

Do note: Honey is not recommended for very young children. This is due to the risk of botulism. Use normal sugar instead for very young children.
