Where do you find the color chart? I’m not seeing it on their website.
@carrie85415 жыл бұрын
Just a quick tip: the longer u let the henna sit before application the quicker the color release and then you don't have to sit with it as long on your head. If you leave your mixture sit for 24-48 hrs before application you could probably get away with leaving it on maybe an hour and a half, two hours max as the dye has all been released . I try and always do that now because i don't have the patience to let the mixture sit on my head for 3-6 hrs. Let the mixture sit covered for a day or two and you'll get much faster results. Happy hennaing!

Carrie, do you add anything to your henna when preparing it, like lemon juice, apple cider vinegar or any kind of oil ?
@carrie85414 жыл бұрын
@@marecee1054 I used too because the acidity would bring out more of the red tones but i stopped using them. I find using lemon or ACV to be very drying to my hair and the henna is already naturally drying. You always need to follow up with a good moisture mask afterwards. Its plant based , so it doesn't destroy the cuticle like chemical dyes but the henna is still drying until it sets into the hair. I found using aloe vera powder helps alot. I just add it to my mixture for added moisture and poof no more dryness. I still do a hair mask afterwards but using the aloe has really made a difference in my hairs moisture level after application.
@marecee10544 жыл бұрын
@@carrie8541 thanks for your quick response...I'm thinking now of using milk (seen this in other videos) and an essential oil. What do you think of that instead of the lemon juice? So I'll just do this for now, it's been awhile since i used henna.

Exactly. The color is still oxidising in your hair for a few days after your henna application so you need to shampoo before your application not after. I rinse the henna out with water only and then do a mask. That's all.

I also want to know what the hair mask consists of
@carrie85415 жыл бұрын
Just an intensive mask.. any kind really... but do a hydrating mask. Not just a conditioner. Henna can make it feel dry for a few days much like a protein treatment. Its not really dry but feels that way for a couple of days after an application till the henna settles. So put moisture back in with a hydrating mask. Not a protein one. An argan or shea butter mask would be ideal.
@miaschu81755 жыл бұрын
Carrie, I read that oils are the only thing that can strip henna colour from your hair. I wouldn't risk a mask with oils, unless the henna came out too dark. Even though, it obviously works for you 😊

I've been using Henna on my hair to cover greys for about 3 years now. I recommend it to all of my friends. My biggest issue is I live in an older house with slow drains and the henna clogs them up badly. I just rinse it out outside initially in warmer weather then finish in the shower. Thankfully I live in the south so there are only a couple of months where rinsing outside is not an option. Have henna sitting in my hair right now. I broke my right shoulder in November and washing my hair was a challenge for three months. Then a month after healing from my broken shoulder I broke my right index finger making washing my hair a challenge for a couple of more months. It's been about 10 months since my last henna treatment. I'm so excited about rinsing it out now.

Hi! According to the instruction included in the pack henna should be mixed with a distilled water. You didn't mention it in your video. I just would like to know how important that is.
@torinoelle72157 жыл бұрын
When I first started using henna I followed that instruction very strictly. However I have NOT noticed a difference when I use any other kind of water. I just make sure to warm it in a glass or plastic bowl, but I have used tap water, bottled water, filtered from the fridge... etc. If you want to use distilled, then go for it! But don't stress if you need to use some other kind ;)

It's important if your tap water has a high mineral salts content, or impurities. If not, it should be okay. Some spring waters could have a high mineral content (Volvic actually tastes salty to me!)

Listen! Boil tea powder and coffee together. Let it shimmer for a few minutes on low heat. Then strain the water and use that water to mix your Henna. Add a bit of curd too if possible. Then cover it with a plastic and leave it overnight. Apply the Henna next morning and then cover your hair with a plastic wrap and keep it for 3-4 hours. Then wash off with plain water. Shampoo the next day. . If you lose colour easily then do this thrice in a month. Which means do it once every 10 days. And if your colour stays for long then apply henna 2 times a month. But no less. . Also, don't just apply whatever henna you get. There are only a few good quality henna out there. Habib's henna is one of the finest quality you can go for. You won't regret. Trust me! Even I use Habib's Henna. And it's amazing. Even if you stop using it, your hair will eventually go back being the way it used to be, but it will show no side effects.

Hello 😊 On your blog you mentioned that you added essential oils, yogurt, tea, coffee, Apple Cider Vinegar, and turmeric to the henna mix at different times. Adding tea/coffee/apples cider vinegar (especially) doesn't affect the result of the henna color? Also, adding yogurt in the mix, although starting with warm water won't cool the mix faster? Is that ok?

Hi! I'm so happy I found this video. I've done red in the past with dye....and loved the color but didn't love how fast it faded. How often do you need to reapply henna to maintain the color? Does the red fade faster than the rest of the colors? What about thr life of the other henna colors?

You don't need to reapply henna never, the color stays no matter. You can apply it when it grows again uf you want. Henna doesn't fade, the color will stay. The same with indigo or other ones. But keep in mind that it's really hard to take henna if you want to take the color. You can't use chimical dyes bc it would have a bad reaction in your hair (burn, be green, etc...). But you can still dye your hair with any type of henna after you do it bc it's not chimical.

Hello, I was looking for the video how to wash your hair before and after applying henna and I don't find it. Where can I find information regarding the washing?

How do you get the red stains out of your scalp ? since you wait 2-3 days without shampoo is that how long you wait till the red comes off the scalp? Thanks just missed that part
@torinoelle72155 жыл бұрын
Danielle Banerjee yeah it take a wash or two for the red tinge to come off the skin and scalp. I have washed sooner if I colored right before and event and wanted to get the color off, but of course for best results it’s better to wait a couple days.

Love it! Have been using chemical dyes for years and I've gone all natural with most other things and for some reason never did that with hair dye. But I've been getting some grey and prior was dying 2x a year and now I need to every month or two. And it's too drying. So I'm excited to try henna. I love red hair. Mine is a med to dark brown naturally. Does this bleed with each wash after like chemical red dye does?
