I consider this a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it's better than covenant, but it feels cheap. When I first heard the idea that "xenomorphs might not even be the dominant predator on their own planet", I was struck with the possibilities of what kind of equally bizarre, alien ecosystem they live on, and what fascinating adaptations organisms would have evolved to compete with the xenos, and even better, what conditions would have caused the xenos to evolve the way they did, so hyper specialized and durable. "Just big white lizards" feels like they just phoned it in, especially with how out of place the xenos look on their own world. Why aren't the lizards biomechanical? Consider that nothing even needs to eat xenonorohs to prevent them from being the dominant predator: we don't eat wasps (well, we don't make an industry of it), they're just so beneath us that they aren't a threat, yet they fill an almost identical lifecycle and niche to xenonorphs I want to see someone take a stab at it and create a bizarre alien world in which xenos are merely a footnote, yet clearly a resident
@siphy93357 жыл бұрын
Yeah, considering a xenomorph is technically a very advanced parasitic predator, they would not make sense as an apex predator, otherwise their is nothing to keep them in check and they would get out of control
@alexprice55226 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of a giant armored zenomorph ant eater that could bust into zeno nest and slurp them up en-masse. They could slowly lumber across the landscape, leaving great canyons in the land as they drag their hulking form from one nest to the next. maybe they even lay eggs among the other zeno eggs and when they hatch they feast on the other eggs right under the zenomorphs' nose.
@2snipe16 жыл бұрын
Alex! That's an amazingly imaginative idea. Base it off an ant/ant lion combo and make it biomechanical. That'd be a great natural predator for xenomorphs!

Could make sense as to how they have the strength of Neomorphs and the acid resistance due to the black goo...
@jr.jorgesandoval94277 жыл бұрын
griffin valko The black liquid is not exactly liquid it’s actually the mosquito parasite that evolves into what then uses its surroundings as a host, for example in Prometheus that movie you see a liquid spill on the ground but what the audience doesn’t remember is that the atmosphere inside is breathable why cause their are earth worms that produce oxygen inside the ship which the engineers used as well to breath. What you didn’t know is that the pods are filled with trapped mosquitoes inside of a pod inside of a containment liquid so the parasite mosquito doesn’t go around freely infecting anything that has life and has a bigger mass than its own. What happens is the mosquitos liquid is opened and it spills in the oxygen farm of the ship which houses many earth worms or perhaps another type alien alike worm that produces oxygen. But the worms become infected by the parasite and the only way it strives is through evolution which requires a host or it just lies dormant waiting for one to pass by. Now do you understand. Also keep in mind the parasite mutates its host and evolves inside them this is where you meet your xenomorph abomination.

The world that birthed the Alien species? That would be a 5-minute movie. They'd touch down on the planet surface, and die the instant the dropship's hatch opened. 1 Alien is bad enough, but a planet full of them? Kinda hard to have a plot when the entire cast bites the dust the instant they establish contact. I can definitely see why they scrapped the idea.

Makes sense too, the Aliens do what any other invasive species do when unchecked by their enviroment. @lancer7377 жыл бұрын
Daniel Baken they are likely xenomorphs themselves, just because of how mutable royal jelly , and other mutagenic fluids are in their body.
@GAZAMAN93X7 жыл бұрын
Daniel Baken why?? Its pretty interesting.. Just like how Lions and Hyenas have a rivalry or Lions and Crocodiles.. They tend to stay away from each other because they know someone will either die or get severaly wounded . especially Lions and Crocs... The same can be said about different ant colonies/species going at it and invading/enslaving each other.
@danielbaken85697 жыл бұрын
Jill's Sandwiches That's exactly why I don't like it. It makes the xenomorphs feel too normal. Like they're just another animal that can be found in nature. I prefer the idea that the xenomorph species as a whole is this horrifying, biological abomination that has no real "place" in nature. Giving them natural predators like this takes away a lot of what makes them unique, in my view. I can see why other people might like this treatment, but I personally just don't think it's fitting for the Alien mythos.
@jet52997 жыл бұрын
I had the same ideal I also have the ideal maybe they went through a total different evolution process.Idk much about the home world but maybe those creatures went through the booming of the black stuff and thats how they started to evolve.

I personally feel like it's a beautifully absurd notion to have the xenomorph exist as yet another subset of nature's endless scheming. To have a natural predator/contender is an extremely fascinating idea, as one can only wonder how those aliens would react to humans and other species like the Yautja. Just as well, it creates a whole new dimension to the universe, opening up an entirely new route of discovery for the franchise to go down.

Funny though: Maybe the Engineers figured in order to eradicate/cleanse their creation (xeno) rather than just sacrifice their own, they engineer a creature to clean up their experiment. It may also explain their (somewhat) skeletal/biomechanical apperance and (by sheer miracle) immunity to acid blood. Similar tactics have been used by humans, such as in order to exterminate harmful insects, they introduce another insect to counter them.

Man do I wish there were more films based on this stuff. Prometheus was a mediocre glimpse into the Engineers and their relationship with the xenomorphs, but it really fell short imo. Ridley Scott keeps steering away from other important aspects and focused on things like ... AI characters playing the flute with each other? There is so much more interesting things in the Alien Universe to focus on. Covenant was a disappointment for many reasons I won't get into, but the main drawback for me was it being centered around the AI, and having the only continuation of the engineers be a scene with Walter destroying an entire colony? Huh.. I hope Neill Blomkamp picks his Alien project back up, I feel that he could really do something with the Alien franchise. It does say "announced" under the title "Untitled Neill Blomkamp/Alien Project" on his imdb page..

If you never noticed, the A.I theme is a very important reoccuring motif an all of the Alien movies. If you didnt get why Ridley chose this route, youre simply missing the point. Ridley is the originator, YOU dont get to say anything about HIS story. Youre obviously more concerned with the modern adaptation of the Weyland/Yutani universe vs the original Weyland universe. If you want the focus to delve else where, stick with the comics, graphic novels & the AvP universe. Sorry if Ridley has disapointed you...lmao

Bren Desch lol impossible. Androids were created by us non perfect beings. Non perfect beings can't create perfection and since we can't create perfection it's impossible for our imperfect creation to create it perfection. There is no such thing as perfection and that is David's/weylands narcissistic ego

koboch y considering they’re more logical and machine like than human I would kind see their points in some ways. Engineers created both humans and xenomorphs, and one video showing the script of deleted scenes of alien: covenant shows that engineers even may have WORSHIPPED certain types of xenomorphs, including the deacon
@celtic95586 жыл бұрын
koboch y humans at that time are not perfect, as well as any species, but with the adaptations that a xenomorph can have with it’s environment, even acid blood, it’s hard to believe that they can have a natural predator, despite being hunted for sport by predators,

I thought that the Xenomorph species is a bio-engineered weapon. How do they have a Natural predator?

They should be in a future alien movie
@SharksandDinos5 жыл бұрын
When I heard of a "Natural Xenomorph Predator" I thought they would look more intimidating like a giant dinosaur like creature looking similar to the Xenomorphs, but not exactly. Instead, we just get white pterodactyl beaked lizards like things.

Can we all agree to stop all alien and predator movies, comics and anything else for a good couple of years and actually think this shit out and give it a decent reboot that actually makes sense and is consistent

Perhaps they are similar to earth honey badgers, no matter how much the xenos bit and stab the still keep going until they’ve killed some to drag of and eat

Remember that Ridley and Giger created the xenomorph. So the comics don't really have a say
@Ransom62427 жыл бұрын
Wow. The comics expanded the alien universe the way movies can't and won't.

Ridley didn't create shit.
@Johnnywilsonforever7 жыл бұрын
Nope, Ridley didn't create it, it was the work of Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shussett. The part of Mr Giger though is right, but if it were for those two alone, the alien would have imitated Ripley's voice at the end and have woman lips. Ridley Scott had faith in O'Bannon an Shussett vision, but it was far from being his "creation".

How could a home world exist considering the xenomorph needs a host in order to evolve into what we know(usually a human, which may not be able to habitat the planet)
@celticangel32637 жыл бұрын
perhaps the neomorph would evolve into the xeno's predator as i believe that david also brought some of the black goo with him on to the ship if he needed to test a new theory or kill more engineers and that the xeno homeworld used to be an engineer's world that was affected by both the goo and xeno overmorph embryos that were brought on board by david

the xenomorph predators remind me of the aliens from Pitch Black

Btw abit of misinformation there, the xenomorpths that get preyed on by Indotrinus are merely workers (drones if you will) and are usually the regular combatants for them that's all.
@Nick-jb4xi6 жыл бұрын
As I recall, on their homeworld the xenomorph are a dominant species. The other creatures make it reasonably tough for them, so they can't just endless expand. A certain amount of caution is required, and resources must be expended on defensive measures. Likewise, when drones venture forth to gather food & reproductive material, they don't always make it back home. But at least from what was shown, other animals on their world will not approach or attack a fully developed Xenomorph hive. It would be interesting to theorize however, that their planet could possibly have some sort of bear or honey badger like creature that would be able to largely ignore their attacks, to attack their hive's food stores. On planets with humans, such a food stock has not been shown, and indeed is not even necessary due to the free availability of food. But on such a desolate world as their home, with stiff competition, a supply of extra food to get through lean times would be an absolute necessity. Conversely from the book series, humans on earth were so little threat once the major militaries were broken, they quickly expanded to the entire world and consumed the food supply(people). Just like when an invasive snake/rat species is introduced, and kills off all the birds, after multiplying unchecked by any local predator. From that point, the queens of major hives started attacking each other, as they all started starving. Given enough time, the aliens on Earth would all die off, because there is simply nothing left to eat.

Speaking of the original alien homeworld from the Darkhorse comics. I'm sure it's been completely retconned and rewritten by now, especially with the Prometheus films

No wonder why Xenomorphs attack humans, they just mistake them for another creature.

I was going to say probably nothing since there really wouldn't be a reason for anyone to go to Xenomorph Prime and any Dragonball character could easily kill Xenos, but then I thought...what if a Facehugger grabbed a saiyan? or better yet Frezia in his third form lol.
