We do this in villages in nigeria where there's no electricity. In my grandparent's house, there's a mud hut roofed with thatch reserved for the clay pot with drinking water. Nobody sleeps in there, infact, no daily human activity was allowed in there. They only go in there to fetch water or fill the pot when its low. It's just the clay pot sitting atop wet sand and I tell you, that water was always cold like it was refrigerated.

True Terracotta housewares are indeed natural refrigerator, even to get refreshing cold water, the old people used to store drinking water in a terracotta jar then keeping the jar deep into the ground. I still remember I saw some here in Indonesia as child in the 80's and 90's but now since the internet is dominating and people are brainwashed by western lifestyle, I rarely find them. This ecologically balanced lifestyle should be back. This is real technology blended in with nature and not against it, not the opposite like today capitalism nothing but damaging our environment, damaging our own selves. Also making them numb and lazy to think, just as walking zombies with phones/gadgets in their hands. #ecology #ecosystems #technology #nature

KoopaTroopa these were invented to help store food longer in really hot, dry climates and for that they work well, but maybe a bigger one would hold in the cold better/longer? It’s hard to say but without electricity or a root cellar it’s really one of the best options

To get it even colder, the earth is cool deep down, like basements are cool. So maybe try to bury it somehow, and/or surround it with water. Also a ceiling fan blowing on water will cool a room down. In Oregon and California, they make what they call a swamp cooler with a fan blowing onto water, and it works to cool a room. Here in Ky the basements are a good 10-20 degrees lower, because they are underground. Great video. Love that house!!

The thermometer only showed 22.0°C, which converts to 71.6°F... a true refrigerator is only considered “functional” when it can maintain temperatures of at least 40°F (4.444°C) or below, usually 38°F (3.33333°C) is the recommended temperature. Burying this below ground, or in a cellar below ground would work *much* better. And it would t require the larger outer jar. That larger jar could become the storage area for the food. Just make sure it has a glaze on the inside - so water does not enter and degrade the food. This is still a very good idea.

I would like to devise a way of making a concentrated purple dye with maybe the blooms. It would be really fun to paint one of the walls very, very light purple as an accent wall. Just ever so little spot of color on the interior. Just saying! I could live like that very easy; I am an artist with all kinds of different artistic mediums. I consider myself somewhat talented: I sew all kinds of stuff. I love to paint acrylic & watercolor I also from time to time do a lot of charcoal sketching. My specialty is flower drawings with painting and colored pencils. Nature brings out my innermost talent, I do some of my best creativity outside. LOL!
