The only problem I got with a lot of the dudes who do thin veneer work is they don’t know how to fit rocks together they got stones that should be horizontal standing up and they got cross joints and it just doesn’t look like an authentic stone wall and I build stone walls and do thin veneer so I always try to make my thin veneer work look as close to the real deal as possible

Anyone can learn to lay stone veneer. Laying out the stones so it looks nice or even resembles a real stone wall is art and many are not artistic.

Jake Reinhart you need plastic cement and washed or masonry sand 20 full shovels of sand per 94 pounds bag of cement....

I like how fast that is, but i dont like how it smears the faces of the stones a little bit from the mud being wet, This would roll on a blue stone walk way or some patio, blow the joints in the finish with a slicker and lightly brush.

garysevern for the floor tiles the best way is cut the mud when starts dying and use the sponge to level and clean that's one way, or you could do the same finish than this guy but with special tool which cuts the deep way you want in all the joints and used the soft broom at the end...

what kind of mix did you use? when i used the bad... it didnt come out... adding water didnt help... haha

lookin4more if doesn't come out is because is dry but if you put water and was it worst that means the mix is poor of cement.... mix is around 20 full shovels of masonry or washed sand per 1 94 pound of plastic cement.... Hope you see this comment

You have a lot a wasted material(mortar) in that way. Shouldn't you press/push that mortar immediately deeper inside in the gap avoiding all this lost after you brush the gaps with mortar.

IKEEPS EARTHQUAKE CHANNEL he is doing right the only thing is he is to slow probably because the mud is kind of dry he needs to put some water and mix, like that the mud flows easily
