Oohhh nooo!!! You just made my day. The reason I started looking in to flower videos is because I am in charge of floral arrangements for a "quinceañera" from yesterday to today I have watch more than 20 videos and I have been waiting for one with candle. This is low budget, simple and beautiful, is like creating a fresh, natural frame for the candle. I love it, I love it I love it! My party will be in Guatemala.

Iliana Samayoa also this is easy to source the materials - because they are quite limited. Greetings to Guatemala! Thank you for watching, and good luck creating your party designs 🙋🏼♂️😀

Candles look great in either Christmas or flower displays but also provide a fire hazard if not taken care of properly.

Thank you John. I was thinking of doing it on top part of the ring. Its going to go on my dinner table. I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks again.

This lovely. You could make two and put one on either end of the table.

betty sanborn that’s true - on a very long table you could have more for more coverage and impact.

I love this! What a lovely idea to mix the grasses with vertical flowers at different heights. Stunning. I'm currently really into natural beeswax candles and I was thinking how pretty this would be with a beeswax pillar (that golden-cream color) with similar flowers in the red-violet to blue range. Isn't there a lavender or purple flower that's like those little green pom-poms? I didn't catch the name. So inspiring, always. THANK YOU.

Jean Vignes it would be good if the craspedia came in different colours! I don’t see that happening, but you could use small Santini chrysanthemums or Pom Pom dahlia I suppose. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙋🏼♂️

@@FlowerJoos - Craspedia! That's the ticket. I did find different colors -- maybe it depends on the country where you live and where you get your flowers? I just applied to the city for a garden allotment -- maybe I can grow my own. Thanks again for your generosity and kindness. ;0)

@@FlowerJoos - Oh, maybe the different colors I've seen were painted or dyed?

Jean Vignes they would be easily coloured with the floral spray paints so that is an option. That would be great to get an allotment - think of all the material you could grow 😀 fingers crossed for a busy allotment 2019

Love it. Any suggestion on how to maintain gerbera looking good in an arrangement without wire support? It is one of those flowers we always buy for the church for economy and availability. Thank you.

Hi John, what would you advice if I want to make a similar arrangement but with a zigzag pattern of Aspidistra leaves. Do I need multiple sizes of the rings or should I still use the same but slice the leaves in half horizontally and insert it in the foam? Would the foam be able to hold the leaves as I won't be able to put German pins or should I try it with smaller leaves and which one would you suggest?
@FlowerJoos8 жыл бұрын
Libra hmm - are you thinking of the pleated leaves going outwards - like the ribbon on a sympathy item? If so you can use this ring, split the leaves in half and pin in with German pins. The aspidistra lasts very well, so I wouldn't worry about it not being placed deep in the foam. It can get a spray or water with the whole arrangement. A pleat would be easier than a zigzag! If zigzag then using the top of the foam will allow you to create the design. I would then be inclined to cut the leaf into two halfs , then into sections for each part of the zigzag - then place each section to get the design.😀

hi john, thanks! got an alternative for flower foam?
@FlowerJoos7 жыл бұрын
jaeskes hi - thanks fir commenting. For alternatives you could use test tubes set into a sand base, or hollow stems set into a round container, tightly packed together to create a framework. Pinholders or scrunched wire are other ways to hold flowers
