If I might suggest that a nuke box would be better so that if they manage to carry the disease to the new hive you only lose four frames and not ten or more!

It would be better not to use smoke as this makes the bees gorge on the honey and that carries the disease!!

That is true but if you want to do a shook swarm without them attacking you like mad, coupled with that the fact that you use a queen excluder to keep the bees in the hive for two days, you will end up with no honey left in the crop of the bees. That is why you need to do the full method and not just parts of it and be very careful too.

The spores can live for 40 years and each larva produces tons of them which is why you're supposed to burn all infected equipment.
