Hi Taylor! I follow you on IG and I love your content and the things you share. I’m a fellow mom, Christian and I’m also a traditional birth and postpartum doula. I want to share some thoughts on this video because I feel God has lead me to comment and hopefully you see it. It saddens me that your doctors have put so much fear into your mind that they are assuring you that getting induced at 37 weeks is the healthy and right thing to do. As well as inducing you with your first even though over 50% of moms go into labor well over 41 weeks. Evidence shows that what triggers labor to start is your babies lungs being born developing. So cutting off that development because the book says he’s “full term” is not evidence based practice. You are your babies mom and you have autonomy over your body and you know what’s best. Because you have God given intuition. I would encourage you to dig deeper and do more research on the pros and cons to what your drs are pushing on you. God has made us women to give birth and he doesn’t make mistakes. God doesn’t form babies in our womb that our too big for us to push out. His design is perfect and unfortunately OBGYNS are not informed on how physiological birth works so they will do everything to cover their butts on any liability that MAY occur. Unfortunately, I didn’t have an unmedicated birth with my first baby I was told by the nurse that I needed to stop being a hero and just get the epidural, similar to what you said about not getting a medal. And yes you’re right that is very harsh to say and although it may be true, you don’t get a medal you still get to experience birth the way God intended it without interventions and in a natural way. That was robbed from me and many moms because of fear mongering. If you want to make the choice to get an epidural that’s your choice. But please don’t spread misinformation about it for the sake of being inclusive. ( At least that’s the way it sounds to me, forgive me if I’m wrong for assuming that) My DR and nurse on call planted seeds of fear in my head and gave me ultimatums and that’s why I decided to become a doula because moms deserve better and I want to help them feel empowered and advocate for their wishes when needed. The system is broken and women deserve better. Birth is a natural beautiful thing and more and more society has made sure to make it look a different way. It’s not about being crunchy or getting a medal it’s about birth being a rite of passage for us as women. We deserve to exercise the authority God has given us over our bodies and our birth as the pregnant mom. Please don’t make it sound like it’s just as good as having a natural birth when in reality there are so many risks to being induced and having an epidural. If you want a natural birth you should have that because that’s what you want and deserve!! I hope you find a good supportive birth team. I pray nothing but the best for your experience. Hopefully your confidence grows as your journey through motherhood continues and you’re able to realize that you are the authority of your birth (or at least you should be) not your OBGYN. My IG is calledtoserve.doula if you’d like to chat more and need any extra support 🫶🏼

No, no they're not, they just had sex & became incubators to create babies, that they may or may not be mentally, emotionally, physically, financially or spiritually prepared to take care of or raise
