Do you have any colleagues you’d recommend in the Bay Area by chance? I’ve been in Vivos mRNA treatment for two years and my second top appliance has screws that spin back 4-6 turns every time I wear it. I’m not making any progress (I feel I’ve regressed) and my current provider suddenly wants to move me to braces (an additional expense) even though there is not enough space for my tongue and my lower jaw is now wider than my upper. He said the screws turning back is due to clenching and that if I don’t move to braces now that my posterior open bite may never close. I’m not sure what to believe and looking to possibly transfer my care elsewhere. Thanks for your help!

There is a doctor in East Palo Alto that does a procedure called EASE to nasaxillary expansion and he is the most popular and efficient. His name is Dr. Kasey Li. The vivos, DNA, and HomeOblock don’t really work on adults for expansion. The EASE is pricey but it is the most efficient expander at the moment. Check that out

Amazing video but can you explain how orthodontic wires at a young age could have caused the problem?
@SereneOrthodontics2 жыл бұрын
Orthodontic problems do not cause developmental issues and crowded teeth. What we are saying is that orthodontic treatments do not fix problems related to underdevelopment of the jaws. Also wires can restrict natural growth. Additionally if retraction is used, it can be harmful.

The device in the video is a Vivos DNA appliance. I also love the Homeoblock for treatment like discussed in the video. A device needs to be specific for the growth needed by the patient.

Could you compare those two appliances in regard to the biting blocks (one side vs. both)? Creator of the Homeoblock emphasizes that it should just on one side.

The appliance to level your bite- in function means when your chewing or swallowing i assume. If that’s the case are you chewing food with this appliance? So if you’re wearing this appliance all the time, wouldn’t it reset your TMJ back to its original position once you take it off. I would recommend removing AGGA on your title , it is getting a lot of investigation , people will get your channel when they search for the agga. FYI . Thank you I appreciate you for promoting this approach in treatment vs the traditional way of doing orthodontics.

I'm 68 yrs old and just had extensive crown, implant, bridge and veneer work done. My orthodontist is concerned about my sleep apnea and is suggesting a Vivos. I don't want to ruin any of the 50K I've put into my mouth. Should I just use a C=Pap?
@SereneOrthodontics Жыл бұрын
I'd need to evaluate your case. We do cases where existing work will not need rework after DNA appliance therapy.

Can these tooth borne appliances split the palatal suture? And could the tongue do the same thing? Would tongue pressure over time be able to move the craniofacial bones and compress the brain or subluxate the sphenoid? I’ve been worrying so much about this.

Can we still achieve forward growth and the upward curving of the maxilla without a Y shaped upper DNA appliance? My appliance was made with only lateral adjustment. I have a gummy smile and my lower jaw is fairly recessed.

I have the mmrna. My provider has me doing 1/4th turns on the two tops screws of the upper every Monday and 1/4th turns of the back screw of the upper appliance and 1/4 turn of the lower appliance every Thursday. Is this rate too fast?
@SereneOrthodontics2 жыл бұрын
My opinion is yes. I have my patients expand the appliances 1/4 every 2-3 weeks. The appliance should be close to completely passive when it is turned.

@Serene Holistic Orthodontics thank you for the insight. I've had my appliance for 1 month so far and will have my first check up from it later next week so I'll be interested in what she has to say. It definitely feels a little too tight at the moment. You're saying you like it too feel kind of loose or like it's not there type of feeling before turning again?

The DNA and Homeoblocks in no way resemble the AGGA. People sue all the time. An appliance is an appliance. Appliances do not do things. Dentists and patients do things. Just like hammers do not bend nails...people do that.

@@SereneOrthodontics it's not an argument Sir, it backed up by countless studies and literature, all these glorified Shwartz appliances do is make more space for the tounge, and do dental expansion in older patients,, and in that sense they can do some minimal benefit but honestly more damage because of the tipping, it's alway better to move teeth at the bone level for functional improvement of breathing and tongue posture ,apnea, and so on. @@SereneOrthodontics My understanding is that the lower jaw can only grow from the articulation point in adults. How does this work?
@SereneOrthodontics2 жыл бұрын
@@letts3299 the lower jaw moves it's point of rotation and articulation based on movement of the upper jaw and teeth positions and bony changes to the temporal bone. A dentist who knows how to purposefully change the bite area of the upper appliance can control this "movement." But you are correct that the lower jaw does not "grow" forward, but rather it moves from the articulation point. The concepts is a complex one and very difficult to conceptualize, so many professionals use the word, "growth." Thanks for the great question and point.
