To even more maximize production and reduce feed cost, I would add the production of duckweed and azolla. Build two layers of long troughs a few inches high. Top layer with duckweed and lower layer with azolla. Use a small solar pump, as it only needs to work when sunny and slow flow. It will help add aeration and clean the water. It can be both fed the chicken and fish. Cost and maintenance is low and you get year round food production. Protein level is high, up to 40%.
