*NH:* You need to accumulate tonnage. *Me:* OK, more reps it is. *NH:* No, that's junk volume. *Me:* OK, I'll increase the weight. *NH:* No, that's strength training.

As always, thanks for presenting bodybuilding in a sophisticated and elegant manner. The way the internet presents it is either bro science or over-the-top hardcore science. Your concepts and presentation makes it interesting and easy to understand. The educated barbarian will prevail.

Hey NH!! If adding more tonnage to a workout causes fatigue at a certain point could one increase tonnage by adding in an extra workout per week? Therefore totally weekly tonnage increased resulting in more gains? Thanks for your time & great information!
@NaturalHypertrophy2 жыл бұрын
Yes that's doable, altough be careful as it can result in a big jump in fatigue. I recommend adding sets to other days in preparation then removing said sets when the new day is installed

I been watching this series from the start. Totally awesome you look at things in a way I've started to look at things and I'm following most of what your saying in these videos well. One question. I've increased my bench from 90kg to 100kg for 3 sets by 10. Through 2.5kg increases every 3 or 4 sessions. Training chest 1.5 time a week. Now I'm stalling sometime missing reps 9 and 10 on sets 2 and 3. I progressed this far without missing a rep. Doing perhaps 2 by 110kg by 5 then 2 by 95kg by 10 and pushing progress from there be good idea? Similar tonnage is it not.
@NaturalHypertrophy3 жыл бұрын
Going up to 105 and doing sets of 5/6 would be more conservative. You need to experience higher intensity without jumping the shark

You are talking about keeping the volume of the workout similar even though you are upping the weight.

i have a question: if I do 12kg*12reps*4 sets it equals 576kg of tonnage of bicep curls, if I do them with 16kg*9reps*4sets it also equates 576. Is it correct to do that tonnage with heavier weight because it's higher quality? or should I stick with the lower weight?
@NaturalHypertrophy3 жыл бұрын
Here sticking with the higher weight would be the best choice, both for tonnage quality and progression

Would you say it's important that when you can't improve on your working sets and can improve and your back off sets to do so my bad if this is a dumb question, would like to hear your opinion NH.

Hi, does the total tonnage for a given body part have to always increase session to session or should that be the aim where possible. IE when a set evolves to a weight increase there will be a necessity to increase the number of back off sets to match the previous total tonnage when the lighter weight was being used for more repetitions? Thanks
