Wow, i had no idea this was an option. Ive been wanting a fuller top lip but i dont like the fact that filler moves and people end up looking odd and needing the filler disolved. So this is a good alternative for me and if i feel i need filler after that then i can. Thank you 😊

Yes that’s a good strategy. Try the lip flip first, and you can always do filler if you want more volume. Filler doesn’t have to move and you don’t have to get it dissolved. I specialize in natural results only and I have never had to dissolve anyone’s lip filler because it migrated. If you decide to do lip filler my advice is to find someone who specializes in providing natural result and you will likely not need to have your lip filler dissolved. I feel that the people who have to have their lip filler dissolved put too much filler to where it migrated. This is why it’s so important to find the right injector. Glad you enjoyed the video! 😊

@@Ciaccona255 .....That's what makes us special, we are each unique in our own way. If you feel "youthful" with your smile that's awesome! Because all that matters is how you feel and what makes you happy. Also, regarding your comment about If you'd change anything you'd fix your teeth, yeah this is definitely an option, but have you ever thought about your teeth being the thing that makes you.... you? Do you get what I saying? It's what makes you unique. It's kinda hard to explain. It's a positive thing. Like for example; there are 3 of us that schooled together and are best friends, my 1 friend is known for the way her chin/jaw Is shaped and my other friend It's her teeth or more so her 2 front teeth cuz they slightly overlap and it made her cute and it's just her uniqueness or quality of who she was. I say was is because later in her adult years she stupidity had to try jumping her sons bike ramp, well, she didn't make it and she ended up smashing her face directly onto the cement knocking out many teeth including her 2 front teeth. (yeah big time ouch 😱) It was just awful! But my point is if it's a feature of yours that people know you by or what makes you, you, why change it. Only if it's something that really bothers you then go and have it fixed. Sorry this is so long I seem to ramble on and on sometimes 😅

Going for my Lip Flip in October and this vid was so helpful. The lip flip will help with the pucker lines, make my top lip fuller (my bottom is incredibly full) giving some lip symmetry. And another thing mentioned was when she was nervous she carried her tension in her upper lip. I am exactly the same and can’t wait to see the subtle changes. Depending on what their recommendations are I may do some filler as well but the Botox is a must.

So I once got a “lip flip” I was one of those patients that you reference as I couldn’t even see the results. I remember for a short period of time it was a little bit harder to drink out of a straw but overall I don’t recall seeing any type of physical characteristic difference. So this makes me wonder if I should try again. Interesting I will give it some thought for sure.

Great video, I am a fairly new NP injector. I have tried this on myself and on others. This was very educational and explains the results I see. I am always cautious and seem to use anywhere from 4-6 units total. i will definitely use your advise on my assessment to customize. Is there a amount you would not want to exceed. With my lips, they actually don’t disappear when I smile, I think I have decent lip eversion but ONLY when I smile. It’s like when my mouth is closed, a good portion of my lip stays on the inside. But that’s not an issue when I smile! So I don’t know if it’s lip filler or Botox lip flip that I need if i want a fuller upper lip when closed. What do you think?

Hi I have a question please, I have short front teeth and am 54 I have been getting Botox since age 40 but only around my mouth the last 5 years. I did get lip filler three times in the last five years. My problem is now my front teeth are barely visible. Mainly I feel after the Botox! Question- have you heard of this happening? Thanks! Hi Debra. There’s no way I can tell you for sure why your front teeth don’t show as much. It could be from filler, a Botox lip flip or from dental work. In general, making your lips larger from filler will decrease the amount of front tooth show because if filler enlarges your lips, or your upper lip is slightly larger from a lip flip, your teeth will show less. This is why ppl with really thin small lips can be more likely to have a gummy smile and more tooth show than ppl with larger lips, they’ll generally have less tooth show when they smile

Thank you for giving so much detail. I have had the lip flip several times. Having lost a substantial amount of weight over the last few years, I notice a big difference in my botox results. I assume my activity level contributes to the length of time my results have been decreased, but also the lack of fat has created an overall decrease in "plumpness". I'm 37, feel like I look 45. Have been contemplating filler for several months. Specifically to enhance my lips. I have a thing top lip, that disappears when I smile. Unfortunately my last few treatments have shown little to no improvement or change when administered to my top lip. I believe I get 4 units on each side. 2 units at each side of cupids bow and another 2 units just beside the bow down toward the Corder of my mouth. I would love your suggestions!

Actually I don’t find that activity level plays a huge part in the longevity of lip flips done with neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport). It’s a very strong muscle so it tends to last 3-6 weeks or so on most people but if you have been doing it for a long time then it can train the muscle to wear you can go longer in between treatments. Fat in our faces does definitely plump things out so you may notice loss of elasticity or sagging when losing weight. However being overweight in itself can make people look older. I would say to compare your photos, take a picture before your lip flip and a photo 2 weeks after to see if it really is making a difference.

Hi Gretchen. So glad you came across the video! I do the same things, experiment on myself. I actually had a video of me injecting myself with Botox and KZbin took it down 😳! They said it violated the guidelines. What I think happened is someone or a few people reported the video thinking that I was trying to teach ppl at home how to inject themselves. There was a time on IG where a lot of injectors were telling other injectors not to film themselves doing injections on themselves because some ppl at home would take it upon themselves to try injections on themselves. I don’t really agree with that but .. 🤷🏽‍♀️. Sometimes I show myself self-injecting on my IG stories. With that being said, the focus of this channel is to educate the consumer.

I had this done and I’m miserably waiting for it to go away. Yes my lip looks fuller but too many cons. I cannot suck from a straw, spit, or whistle. I have trouble pronouncing some words and my lips below the wet/dry line that are suppose to be wet are now horribly dry and chapped. Going for the filler next time

No not at all. The tissue around the lips will eventually deflate from aging though, not from Botox. I’ve been doing it for years and I can tell you if anything it has helped my upper lip age LESS

Actually if anything it will make the philtrum appear shorter by everting the upper lip. It will not be as much of a difference as an actual lip lift surgery though.

I have quite full and long lips and on injector thought I have had lip filler when I did not. But I now have about 0.75ml in my lips now just to plump them up. Almost everyone thinks that I have had lip filler! When my co-worker was filming for IG she said that my lips were augmented on camera and I told her that I have never augmented my lips with filler. And I’m definitely thinking about doing the lip flip because I have naturally full lips but my top lip does thin out when I smile really hard I’ve worked really hard on trying to control it but sometimes when I’m really happy it just gets lost in the smile

I had lip filler in April which I am VERY happy with however my top lip naturally wants to curl inwards when I smile so I got a lip flip four days ago (four units I believe). I haven't really seen results yet, but I do have a slight tingly / numb feeling in my top lip - is this normal?

The feeling takes time to get used to and most ppl are not bothered by it and get used to it, the results are worth it! I say try it. How else are you going to know if you like it if you don’t try it. Curious if your lips are naturally full because the thicker your lips, the less teeth show you tend to have. I’ve had the lip flips before & I liked it, but it wasn’t enough. I have small lips to begin with and I’m over 50 so I feel my lips are going away but with a child about to be in college it’s really expensive to get fillers. I’m going tomorrow anyway to get some Botox in my jaw for TMJ and I’m definitely going to ask her to give me more units in the lip area so it’ll be nice & plump for graduation pictures next month. Even people who generally have their lip invert when they smile _can_ smile with their upper lip everted, right? It's just about mindfulness. Not that it's great to have to be mindful when you just want to smile, but for photos it's easy. But I too get a "stiff upper lip" when I'm focused/nervous/uncomfortable, (OR: my upper lip becomes stiff to fix a slight lip incompetence, which makes me appear and even feel more tense) so it's really cool to know that this also addresses that!

Hi Mai. Most people say they feel the weakening start at around 2-3 days so you should probably see some eversion and a fuller upper lip by day 6. However, full results take 14 days. Hope you have fun on your vacay!

If you are not seeing results, then it may be because you didn’t get enough units. They can always increase the amount of units.

@@NaturalInjector the results only last like a month. I think they dilute the botox - but in terms of telling them how to inject based on my face shape... thats an awkward conversation to have lol they charge $99 for a lip flip (which is only 4 units.)

@@kg715_ Yes as I mentioned in the video. The results on anyone does not tend to last as long as other areas we treat with Botox. 1-2 months. Some of my patients say 3 months but I think that is rare. This is because you cannot do too high of a dose otherwise you will lose proper muscle function. This muscle is very active and we talk all the time so it’s not going to last long. Also as far as the pricing goes, the lip flip is not a very expensive area compared to other areas and so a lot of practices feel they should have a minimum because it’s not about the units, it has to do with their time. It’s like going to a hair stylist and saying I want you to make time for me to come in but I’m only going to get one highlight done. Some ppl would not even consider this worth their time considering that a lot of their other clients come in to do a full or half head of highlights. This is why a lot of places have minimums for lip flips. Also everyone needs to reconstitute, or dilute their toxin in order to inject it. You may find this video helpful. Hi Emily. Wondering if you know of any procedures that help hide or disguise a slight overbite? Is there a lip flip for the bottom lip? My lips are on the thin side anyway but because of my slight overbite, my bottom lip appears thinner than my top lip.

Hi Diane. I’m not sure if you had dental work to correct the overbite, correcting with dental work can definitely help give you a more balanced profile and maybe a more balanced lower lip. You can also get filler to your lower lip if you think you’re a good candidate. What would you recommend to remove the lines on your lips(not around or on my lip line)? My issue is my lipsticks & gloss fall into these lines & I can never get a smooth application even with chapstick

Some people have more texture to their lips and its not smooth like other people’s lips. Just try moisturizing your lips and keeping them hydrated. Some people naturally have lips that a drier and you will usually see more lip lines but sometimes as our lips deflate with age they may appear more prominent but since I cannot see you I cannot tell but I know a lot of my patients complain about their lips lines but a lot of times its natural everyones lips are different.
