I watched this video in preparation for getting a Grand. Two years later I can say the description of their temperament is spot on. Thanks a lot for this excellent video!

We have a 9 week old one, and she is currently the girl with the curl, when’s she good etc…. Absolutely delightful and loving, but stubborn and willfull. She is very intelligent and needs constant challenges to keep the naughtiness at bay. What a tongue too.

I love your "dog breed videos" it is a pity that there are only a few and you don´t do it anymore ... they were really very good!

If you could separate the Petites from the Grands from the same litter up until 1976, then why are they known for having different temperaments, different activity level, different thought process (ex. Bassets think then give chase, Petites jump at something without thinking) ?

Decades of refining the types as different breeds, i.e artificial selection (same way any dog breed is perfected)

I love it. Do u sell any petites? I have a petite basset myself and I would like for him to have a mate and some company.. Very affectionate loyal dogs.

Yes, they are very passionate about hunting rabbit, hare, deer, etc. Ours has not hunted very much, but one night she escaped out the door and spent two hours chasing a hare in a circle around the property, barking steadily and constantly staying close to the animal. She won't hunt moose, she just barks angrily at them as to say "go away, you're too big"! Keep in mind it is thought they are at their best when hunting in packs, though there are many examples of Grands that hunt solo.

Dogs that can't manage living in a household where people work shouldn't be bred in this day and age.
