We have Cavaliers for 19 years. We now have 2, a Blenheim and a Tri. Be cautious when you buy a Cavalier. Breeders differ greatly in regard to their purpose (make money or promote a healthy breed). Our first Cavalier died at age 8 with a heart problem which is characteristic of the breed. It broke my heart I loved him so much. He died in my arms and I wept for days. My wife and I have acquired 2 Cavaliers from the same breeder. Her Cavaliers live to be 15 years old due to her careful breeding. One of our Cavaliers is 9 years old with no heart issue and the other is 3. Carefully screen your breeder and require evidence of the breeds longevity before you purchase a puppy.

My boy just passed last month, he was given to us by a terrible family who neglected and abused him. He cost 0$ and was the best friend I have ever had. My little shadow. We had him for 10years and he got to live the lake life with a huge backyard. I am pretty sure my heart belongs to the breed forever. My dearest Charlie will always be loved 🐾🥺 RIP

i had a beautiful blenheim Cav named Lucy. Unfortunately she died in February 2020 of mitral valve disease. I miss her beautiful face. She always made me smile. She's with the angels now. I'll see her again.

My heart goes out to you, I lost my blenheim Ben'e 4 weeks ago due to the same mistral valve problem, he is with angels as well and I will see him again. Such sweet loving dogs , I am getting another , love these little guys so much

This is a very informative video. I do want to say that it is evident that this couple spend a large portion of their day with their dogs. Your dog is a reflection of you. It's your job to teach your dog. They only want to please. I lost my Fav 3 months ago. I find myself looking for him all the time. He will be my forever angel, my best friend in spirit. Unless you have plenty of time just for your Cab to show love and appreciation, I wouldn't advise you owning one. I swear that they were bred to be loved.

We have our 2nd Cav now. Blenheim. Both of our girls were purchased from private breeders. We went to their homes when the pups were 3 weeks old to see how they were being raised. My requirement is that they are reared inside with their people and are handled and socialized. I also require that have have been taken outdoors when old enough as well. All members of our family took soft toys that we all kept in our shirts for a day, then brought it to the breeder to give to our chosen pup. She left the breeder without any problem and acted like she knew us for years. Although... Cavs are like thar anyway, lol. She didn't cry or miss her Mom the first night away,, tho.

I remember watching a BBC exposure of The Kennel Club and disreputable breeders of these little dogs, and other breeds and it was heart-breaking. In-breeding and heart problems, not to mention Cavaliers bred so badly that their brain was actually rubbing against the skull and causing all sorts of pain and distress. I can still hear the screaming of that little Cavalier in my mind as I recall it. I do hope that the welfare of these beautiful little canines has improved immensely since then, and those evil cash-cow breeders are continually being exposed and highlighted.. Unfortunately the puppy farms of Eastern Europe have taken over this evil practise, so one should never buy from the internet or meet at a filling station to collect your puppy. People who pretend to have bred them themselves but many of them have had them delivered to the back door from these puppy farms. One has to be very diligent indeed when purchasing a puppy. I'm glad to say that your lovely bunch of dogs look fantastic and full of energy. Keep up the good work folks.

That could have been me writing that post except my little angel was 12, and she started doing better after I cooked all her food. But, I have searched hi & lo for another one and they want $1000+ even for a rescue. I'm 74 & NEED another Cavie for company for me and my husband, but $1000 is out of the question. I love CKC Spaniels.. I've owned 2 in the past, first one was a Blenhiem and second a tricolor.. Both were very loving, with different mischievous nature's. Unfortunately both are in doggy heaven now 😢. A puppy is out my price range now unfortunately, 1st dog cost us £120 and 2nd cost £250... That's how far back it was!!!

I had way too much trouble with a real breeder as you say ...I was treated like I wasn't good enough to own Thier puppy I didn't even get to decide what the pup ate we were told what brand to give it and trouble if we didn't a total weekly meal plan then it was twice as dear for a pet than other normal family breeder who just had mum and dad ...didn't have grandpa dogged father cousin grandpappy brother because it was champion ... Never again with controling breeders .ioopk at your dog's buddy ...how many puppet are you pumping out with all those dogs I bet there's more dogs at other people's places you own
