I LOVED what you said about backyard breeders and the betterment of the breed. You're 100% right.

We recently adopted two CKCS pups; they are darling but so different from my German Shepherd. We are crate training and we feed them the food the breeder recommended. My GSD is strictly raw food (again what the breeder fed) but these little guys will be kept on what their system is used to receiving. They are smart, and have stolen our heart.

How was it introducing the puppy to ur gsd? Im worries getting one next to my gsd
@janicew6222 Жыл бұрын
@@AnayameToko It went very well. We had had two GSD dogs and the older dog had died, he saw the puppies as friends and they adored him. We have cats, so the GSD had been around smaller animals and he wasn't aggressive towards our pets, no issues at all. Good luck!

Thank you so much for ur answer. How did u introduce the cavi? We want to be as chilled as possible. Im just really worried about 8 weeks old tiny cavi and adult gsd😂@@janicew6222

Loved your definition of a reputable breeder vs a backyard breeder. Video so relatable to my experience. The dog community is so opinionated it makes it difficult. I adopted a 9 month old Cavapoo from a family in December. It was terrifying to make any decisions about her food or training, because no matter what I chose, someone told me I was wrong. Had to stop listening to everyone and do what I knew helped my puppy be happy and healthy.

YES!! Someone always has something to say. . . At the end of the day, as long as your pup is happy and healthy then you’re doing the right thing.

I’m so happy you’re back! I’m about 6 months in with my Cavalier puppy and I relate to everything you have said! The crate is a lifesaver for us!

Agreed. When my Cavalier was a puppy..the crate was very beneficial.

I love that you talked about backyard vs reputable breeders! Also, if you feed raw food, you don’t have to worry about brushing teeth because there won’t be any carbs that cause plaque buildup. BUT, if you feed kibble, you can feed them raw or air dried chicken/duck feet or necks to help scrape plaque off their teeth.

Love your channel!! I use a crate and a "Play Yard" in the living room. At night our baby puppy, Willow, sleeps in her crate. She is 10 Weeks old and goes to the foot of our bed at night after playing and whines to go to her crate. I have never seen this before and think it is wonderful. She hangs in her play yard in the living room while we eat and do some house chores. She is so use to it and it is wonderful not to have to worry about her safety. She does get a lot of play time out of the Play Yard / Crate when we are able to keep a good eye on her and at night while we watch TV. Now our 2-1/2 Year old girl does not use a crate. She did as a puppy but now she just hangs out in the house and sleeps in the bed with us. She did not like her crate near as much as the baby. Now that we have the puppy our older girl, Daisy, will go in the play yard with Willow

Aw! Thank you for sharing this story! We used something similar to a “Play Yard” too but they weren’t having it when they got older haha :)

Thank you SO much for the tip on detangling mats with Ice on Ice! It’s magical. My Cavie gets mats at the blink of an eye, and hates endless picking and combing. Ice on Ice makes detangling easier and quicker.

I’ve just got my ckcs puppy Louie and I’ve loved watching your vids. I’m in the UK 😊 awful that people shaming you for crate training. I’ve crate trained all my dogs. Used correctly it makes puppy feel safe and secure and means they have their own space. It’s only if it’s abused that’s it’s wrong. You are doing it the right way so ignore the haters 😊

Growing up we had a pure breed Sheltie that we left intact, because we thought we might breed her. We ended up not doing it. I wish we had spayed her. She died of uterine cancer.

Does anyone have any information on pet insurance, or professional dental cleaning ?

I don't have pet insurance and I brush my dogs teeth everyday to avoid needing a professional cleaning.
