I remember liking the curl boss gel. I do want to pick up the purple one as well because I loved the mousse from that line. I think the coconut version applies heavy but dries lighter. It has a medium hold to me.

I love watching your videos. I have loose texture low density and high porosity hair but I enjoy how your hair looks and comes out and your honesty reviews. I want to try the ice curl. I like the don’t shrink too but living in Florida I need some hold cause of frizz.

I think your hair looks great! You have gorgeous hair. I use Aunt Jackie's Don't Shrink but maybe I will try these other gels. I have had no luck with Quench though. It is flake city whenever I use it so I switched to Aussie Hair Milk.

Thank you so much. I used to use the Don't Shrink all the time, but got away from it. I'm going to revisit it soon. I don't have flaking issues with the Quench, but I've never used it with the Don't Shrink either, so there's that. I'm glad you the Aussie works for you. Thanks for sharing and for tuning in.

I've recently purchased Aunt Jackie's Hydrate Me leave-in from their Aloe and Mint collection and I've learned that it mixes smoothly with my Okra defining gel from Nature's Little Secret. My current wash day was a failure and I will be redoing my hair in a few days. I'll have to report back and share how this combo worked once I've tried it.

@@NaturalRaeRae Me again! It's day one of my wash day using Aunt Jackie's Hydrate Me leave-in as my moisture base and Nature's Little Secret's Okra Curl Defining Gel as my hold styler. NLS's Okra Gel gives me somewhere between a medium-strong hold with no crunch and even though I am a strong hold stan, this gel has given me wash days that last 11 days with great definition and it has become a Holy Grail of mine. It also holds up well during rainy days. I have walked through drizzle with this gel in my hair and never experienced any frizz. As I mentioned before these products mixed smoothly on the back of my hand and thankfully they appear to be working in harmony in my hair! Nothing feels grainy/dirty or greasy and I have no flakes. I have some pieces on my front left section that are wonky looking but that is one of my problem areas that tends to act up no matter how healthy my hair is so I kind of expected that. Overall my hair is moisturized, defined (I finger-coiled for the best possible results) and clumped (I prefer clumped curls over separated curls). The leave-in is white in color and has a heavier lotion consistency, somewhere between a lotion and a buttercream. It is VERY rich and concentrated which I loved right off the back because my hair is naturally coarse and I color over my greys with permanent dye at my local salon every two months, so I need all the moisture I can get. It is high porosity from being colored. When I emulsified the leave-in in my hands I could see it took on a whipped cream consistency which is what my hair always does well with. I would not recommend pairing this leave-in with a cream as it is already deeply moisturizing on its own and I'd worry about getting build-up and residue. It clumped my curls pretty much immediately. I'm reading the back of the bottle now and I don't see any hydrolyzed proteins or keratin (my hair loves protein and I need it to fill in my cuticles and keep the structure of my hair intact since I do color it quite frequently) but it IS full of very rich oils like hydrogenated rapeseed oil, argan oil, and olive oil which would explain why it's so moisturizing. It's only day one so far and it's going to take another day or two for me to get the volume I want, but so far so good! Im very happy so far and I'm excited to see how my hair behaves throughout this week!

Your hair shape looked great to me! I don't like the sticky feeling on gels so I'll just stick to trying the purple labelled gel. I feel the mane choice blue gel (tropical moringa) feels sticky. I like the results but i dont like the sticky feel.

I don't prefer a sticky either, but I do like the Tropical Moringa. I find that as long as I let my hair dry completely, the stickiness goes away. Thanks for tuning in.
