L-12's incident report: "On February 23, 2024, at approximately 8:52 p.m., I (Trooper Walker) was traveling eastbound on Highway 412 near Sonora Road. While traveling eastbound, I conducted an ACIC/NCIC check on the license plate of a blue GMC Terrain. After conducted the ACIC/NCIC check on Arkansas license plate #436XLF, it showed to be expired in April of 2023. The driver conducted a right turn onto Sonora Road from Highway 412, traveling southbound. I activated my emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle. Once my emergency lights were activated, the suspect vehicle immediately began to flee. I notified dispatch I was in pursuit. While traveling southbound on Sonora Road, the suspect vehicle reaches speeds over 80 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone. The suspect vehicle also traveled on the wrong side of the roadway during the pursuit. I was unable to confirm how many occupants were inside the vehicle due to the back glass being tapped up with plastic. With the back glass being tapped up, there was zero visibility inside the vehicle. The vehicle continued to travel southbound on Sonora Road, which eventually turned into Habberton Road. Corporal Elkins was sitting at the intersection of Habberton Road and Sonora Road. Corporal Elkins began to call the pursuit. Shortly after Corporal Elkins became secondary in the pursuit, the suspect began to negotiate a left-hand curve but ran off the roadway to the right. Once the vehicle left the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree and turned over onto the passenger side of the vehicle. With the vehicle rolling over, it caused all occupants to be trapped inside the vehicle. Corporal Elkins and I began to give the occupants commands, which they were not complying to our commands. Due to the occupants not complying to our commands, I maintained cover on the vehicle while Corporal Elkins attempted to open the doors on the vehicle. Corporal Elkins broke the passenger side back window using his baton, which allowed us to communicate better with the entrapped occupants of the vehicle. We were later to get all occupants out of the vehicle without further incident. All occupants inside the vehicle were later identified as, Shaun Cantrell (driver), Ethan Millem (front seat passenger), Courtney Cantrell (driver side back seat passenger), Jennifer Cantrell (passenger side back passenger), and . (back seat passenger). All occupants were cleared by medical staff on scene of the crash. A car seat was located inside the vehicle, but it was not properly secured inside the vehicle. Corporal Chambers and Trooper Zachery Rogers, read Cortney and Ethan Miranda Rights, which they stated they understood and agreed to answer any questions. Cortney and Ethan both stated they told Shaun to pull over several times during the pursuit, but Shaun stated no due to having warrants. Shaun was later transported to Washington County Detention Center to be booked in on the following charges: No Child Passenger Restraint, No seatbelt, Reckless Driving, Speeding More than 15mph over limit, Expired Tags, Fictitious License Sticker, Driving on Suspended License, No Liability Insurance, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 3rd, Fleeing By Vehicle, Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule VI and Schedule I, II Meth Cocaine, Driving Wrong Way on One way roadway, False Imprisonment 2nd, Unauthorized use of Property. Shaun also had a total of six active warrants. The warrants were out of Arkansas Board of Parole, Lowell Police Department, Rogers Police Department, Fayetteville Police Department, Washington County Sheriff's Office, and Springdale Police Department. During a search of the vehicle, Trooper Rogers located a class jar containing marijuana and a small plastic baggie containing methamphetamine. The vehicle also had a fictitious license sticker on the license plate. The tag number on the sticker was Arkansas B337213. First Response arrived on scene and took possession of the vehicle. All evidence was transported to Troop L Headquarters, where it was properly packaged and secured into a temporary evidence locker. See Crash Report #202403554ASP for further information."

What an idiot, thank god his daughter said, after being mirandized ,that he was the driver. Now the question is how did he get a warrant from Arkansas Board Parole, the POS grandpa has warrants out from 5 counties, and now all the new charges here, how is it decided on which county gets him next?? The parents of the child NEED TO LOSE PARENTAL rights. If they really care about the toddler, NEVER, EVER ride with the grandparent---EVER unless he becomes born again and lives for CHRIST. IMHO and a believer. By the GRACE OF GOD that child is alive--as we all should know, when they are not properly restrained, they are like a bullet/projectile and will fly through anything.
