L-19's incident report: "I was driving west bound on U.S. Highway 412 near Blue Springs Village when I observed a set of headlights come off the curve east bound on U.S. Highway 412 approaching the White River bridges. I activated my radar and received a reading of 91 in a 65 zone. The vehicle continued up to 100 miles per hour (mph). I entered the paved turn around at Saddleshop Rd. and waited for the vehicle to come by. I activated my lights as it passed by and attempted to catch up to the vehicle. The truck seemed to be pulling away and I activated my radar and it indeed was climbing in speed. I attempted to catch up to the vehicle near Whitmore Sawmill. The vehicle began break checking and unpredictable erratic movements. I started to move in on the right side to see if I could get in position for a PIT maneuver but the vehicle continued braking and rocking side to side. I tried to be cautious knowing at high speeds my chances of a successful TVI were more likely given the size and weight of the 2500 truck, it would be very difficult for the Explorer unit I was driving to turn it. I also realized the truck had a ball hitch protruding to the rear and was being mindful of making sure if I made contact with the push bar to avoid possibly getting hooked by the hitch. The vehicle made sudden shifting movements as we approached the Hometown Country Store and Hickory Flat intersection. The vehicle accelerated as it took the left turn towards Hickory Flat and the Ford Explorer I was driving did not have enough power to catch the back corner with the push bar while it was turning. The vehicle continued on Hickory Flat on the pavement and continued brake checking. At one point the vehicle almost comes to a stop, and I unbuckled my seatbelt to prepare to engage the suspect but the vehicle took off again. I struggled to put the seat belt back on for a second. We then entered the dirt road section Hickory Flat but the dry area due to lack of rain produced an excessive amount of dust. I had to deactivate my front emergency lights just to see the roadway. I continued to follow the dust trail. The vehicle made the hard U-turn to continue onto Hickory Flat, eventually taking Poole Road. I suspected the vehicle would have gone north on State Highway 303 north. I headed that way to see if there was any sign of the vehicle. There was some scrap similar to what the truck was hauling in the middle of the highway not too far north of Fate Anderson Rd. A homeowner also advised that he did hear what seemed to be a large truck heading north just prior to me making contact with him. The vehicle returned stolen out of Benton County. They did not have any suspects and it is undetermined who may have been driving."

That driver is someone that knows the area therefore knows the dirt roads to evade the Trooper. Good attempt Trooper and STAY SAFE OUT THERE.

The only reason he got away is because of the dust he kicked up ... Trooper couldnt see to follow close enough.

As crazy as it sounds, he should have turned off the lights to be able to follow him better. His headlights illuminated every single dust particle and reflected the light - with the high beam he couldn't see anything at all and for that reason turned 'em off again. Without his own lightshow he could have followed the taillights of the pickup and, because he then could have followed closer, would have been able to see more because the dust cloud hadn't risen that high yet. _I once drove an organized off-road experience tour through the Sierra Nevada, Spain, and that was exactly what was explained to us._

Ok, here we go another cut through a back dirt road. Officers have to know this by now, when these vehicles take back roads, they are literally doing to kick dust up so its impossible for them to follow. The Officer had plenty of time to pit the truck, but oh well.

I own a Ram 2500 392 6.4 liter 4×4. Very powerful truck and it will eat a ford eco boost . I have 410hp 8 speed auto in it. Charger I would of caught it. They have awd also.

When ya lost him and turned off the lights, you still continued to speed, go over the line, not really slow down for those sharp curves, You had no lights or sirens to indicate a need for you to continue to drive like that, so technically you were driving erratically and speeding.
