Looks absolutely brilliant. I got myself a 130x50x50 tank. which over the next few month I will set up. Next week during my vacation the cabinet will get put together and it and tank moved in place . Then shopping for equipment, hard scape and plants will start- It is a covered tank tho..

Great tutorial Dave, I visited the shop for the first time today, I live a 2 hour drive away so its not something I can do regularly but I'm glad I finally made the trip down. The display tanks are stunning, you can watch videos, see pictures all you want but nothing is as good as seeing them for real. They are so immersive, I'm sure you can look for hours and still keep finding hidden areas and gems and it makes the fish look amazing too, I bet they are loving it! I hope to get the aquascaper 600 I love the 50cm depth (width) it gives so much more to the scape. Dave is very helpful, thank you and I also found out that one of the staff members is a friend of someone whos husband is the guitarist of a band I love called Lonely the Brave (originally from Cambridge) to whom I spoke with at one of their gigs in Norwich. Such a small world! Anyhow, if you can and you haven't yet, I would definitely recommend a visit! I was probably there for 2 hours or more, I had to go in the end or I may have been accused of loitering with intent. It was with intent alright.. To marvel at the amazing showroom aquascapes!

I found that the best bargain in the plant world..is Windelov. For $5 per plant at Petsmart you can fill a branch or log with something that wont die on you and gives you the look of a crisp professional aquarium especially when combined with Anubias..also now easy to get. I also like narrow leafed Vallisneria...elegant when constrained in a pot rather then run wild. Its creates a green curtain with easy care.

You left out the important stuff I think. Yes, add soil, rocks, plants to taste. Don't forget the water! How about the lighting (wattage, timing, etc.), chemistry control, filtration, and how does this CO2 diffusion work? I kept aquaria many years ago but it looks like you have some new stuff to make things easier. You don't put a cover on your tanks? These beautiful tanks are amazing. I feel eager to start back up with the hobby.

Hi Jim, thank you for your feedback it’s much appreciated! We will do more comprehensive videos on individual aspects such as lighting, CO2 etc. This video covers mainly the design of the aquascape and hardscape/plant choices for a low maintenance Nature Layout. Please see some of our other videos where we touch on CO2 and lighting. But we will add more detailed videos in the future :) please see description for all equipment used on this tanks. Thanks again, Dave

Inspirational, how do you stop your surface skimmer from bobbing? I do a water change each week and the skimmer is fine but after 3 to 4 days it starts to bob out of control and takes lots of air in to the filter . If I adjust the bottom it is sucked right down and the only way to stop it is to use an elastic band as a stopper. It seems switching of the filter for half an hour works, but I don’t really want to be doing this. Any advice welcome 🙏

Amazing aquascape. You make it look so easy. Loving the wood too, nice mid-ground between spiderwood and driftwood. I'm definately going to be copying some of what I've seen... for example the little planting area in the rocks to the left hand side. Great idea :) I really do wish I'd put filter floss between my rock when I started my tank... time to retrofit this too I think! Anyways... Amazing video :)

@@AquariumGardensAquascaping It's a lot of fun to experiment with different materials and try different aquascapes, but how often does the average person who's not in the business, set up an aquascape? From a home improvement center, I just bought some organic potting soil (to offset the cost of expensive aqua soil) ,pea pebbles and sand, along with some other river rocks. Once I get the hardscape done, I'll pick up some plants. It can get expensive...

Wow looks amazing! I’m just about to set up a new tank and will be taking inspiration from this! I have to ask is your wood pre soaked?
@AquariumGardensAquascaping6 жыл бұрын
Scott Williams thanks Scott. It was pre soaked for this scape. Otherwise we would glue, bond or cable tie down the wood to the rock. You will also notice some rocks placed on top of the wood in places to weigh them down and prevent any potential floating.

@carlalees17762 жыл бұрын
Hi there I know this video was taken a while back but I've only just come across it while learning how to aquascape. Question: As you were placing the rocks, did you just place around the edge on the Aqua soil or have you also placed rocks to cover all the aquasoil including adding driftwood. There was no side view taken so show the layout only a front view so im wondering how much space you left from edge of soil to back of tank

So please help me what method do you use to resolve this problem ? Thank you so much.

How long does a scape like that survive? I have heard that the aquascaping plant soil tends to rotten since it doesnt get cleaned or gets any water fluctuation/flow.
@simoncrutch55204 жыл бұрын
It can survive indefinitely, plants will grow for year, they might die but can be replaced. Aquasoil does not rot but eventually will lack nutrients, you can use root tabs once that happens though. As long as you maintain it you can keep it going.
