Great video my friend! Hello from Canada! Your production is clean, to the point and well made. No superfluous yammering, bad hand held motion and endless segues. What a joy to watch!

Thank you for listing what each material was, so many "guides" just put a bunch of different plants and rocks in the tank assuming we're all expert botanists etc.

What an incredible aquarium this is! If I could only copy and paste it straight to my tank! Loved this video, however I wouldn't have minded watching the tank fill just a bit longer :p

Hi Dave. Really enjoyed the video. The sand made all the difference with the contrast. How many hours a day are you leaving the light on for.? Way are you using the tropica specialised and not the premium? Appreciate your advise. All the best. Aengus
@AquariumGardensAquascaping5 жыл бұрын
Hi Aengus, light is 8 hours per day at 40% intensity. We are using specialised because there are lots of plants in here. If the lighting was on full power and using CO2 then we would triple dose the Tropica specialised. Thanks for watching 😊
@aengusfoley66945 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reply Dave. How often are dosing this tank with the tropica specialised ? Have a good weekend. Aengus

We will dose 1 pump every 2 days in this tank - slightly over the amount on instructions but we do large water changes each week too.

I'd really want to pursue this kind of CO2 free and low-energy set up - It's supposed to be hobby and not like maintaining a data-center and server room. I haven't had much luck with plants - maybe I'm using tab water (with water stabilizers) or is it the water being too warm - room temp typically 23-26 deg C? But will definitely try your plant selection.
@AquariumGardensAquascaping5 жыл бұрын
Try lower lighting, easy/slow growing plants and regular 50% water changes 👍

@@AquariumGardensAquascaping how man hours should I have the light on each day? I'm currently doing about 4-5 hours after getting home from work (9pm - 1am). When you say "Regular 50% water changes" - like change out 50% of the tank once every week or more frequently ? I currently change out about 10% every day with ADA Green Brighty STEP 1 additives replenishment (about 3-4 ml for my 70L tank. Mant thx indeed!

volcanomineral as first layer under the highest point had been the better choice...i run multiple nanos...without technic, except the lights...completely filtered by bacteria in the volcanominerals and Epipremnum aureum, which filters a lot of toxicstuff out of the water...my next step is to test that at a 200 liter tank

In my low tech/high effort 240 gallon,I've gotten most plants I like to do well with no Co2. My water is very soft 1.ppm It well lit. Only Bolbitis heudelotii has failed to thrive..I've even aimed a powerhead right at it for top flow...its leaves start to darken and erode. I cannot figure out why. I started dosing iron gluconate and all the plants just took off....except the Bolbitis. Is it just not growable without Co2?
